CLASS HISTORY It has been said. . .there is nothing like your high school years. . .and there are 89 of us willing to agree. It seems like only yesterday, when as 121 unsuspecting green Freshmen, we took our first teps through the now familiar halls of A.H.S. We were the first class to spend all four of our years in the new addition. The following September, 115 of us returned to assume our work as Sophomores, somewhat relieved as we were no longer green freshies . We followed our basketball team to the Regional that year. As Juniors, our responsibilities rose with the selecting of our class rings and the planning of our Prom, Moonlight and Roses . To guide us through this important year, we chose: Bill Rahe, President; Sally Unger, Vice-President; Pat Karsteter, Secretary; and Lanny Lee. Treasurer. Our new classmates became old, and we now had an even 100 in our class. Aurora was selected as a member of the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges, thus raising the staudards of A. H. S. The last chapter of these wonderful years began in September of 1958, as we, the best class ever , returned to complete our high school course. To guide us through our last year, we selected; Bill Rahe, President; Lanny Lee, Vice-President; Nancy Powell, Secretary; and John Linkmeyer, Treasurer. Our Hi Lite and Annual were the greatest, our football team had the best record in the school’s history, and our basketball team was great! This year found us preparing for our class play, selecting our class motto, KNOWLEDGE COMES, BUT WISDOM LINGERS , colors, RED AND WHITE, and flower, ROSE. When we assemble for the last time as a class, dressed in our caps and gowns, to receive our diplomas, we will complete our book of memories. . .to be opened again and again. [ 19 ]
