HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF l936 fContinuedD each entered at Cincinnati, Ohio, Dillsboro, Rising Sun, Wilmington, Sun- man, Versailles, Monroe, Mich., Meridian, Miss., Pontiac, Ill., Winchester, Ky., and Chicago, lll. Five entered at Lawrencehurg. From the rural schools there entered two each from Colfax, Wrights Corner, Tufts, Manchester, and one each from Worley, Mt. Sinai, Bear Branch, and Fremont. Twenty-four of this group rated the honor roll. For class officers we elected Clarence Schinaman as president, Marjorie Block as vice-president, Mary li. Sause as secretary, and Tom Miller as treasurer. From the Senior class there are fourteen participating in girls' glee club, eleven in boys' glee club, twenty- two in mixed chorus, ten in band, six in orchestra, seven in girls' athletiCS, four in boys' athletics, and we had two representatives on the Athletic Board. Miss Rolf, Miss Linkmeyer, and lVlr. Wegener were our class spon- sors Through the various actxvitles that mark the close of the scholastic year Open House Senior Class Play unior Senior banquet painting of the tank Baccalaureate Commencement and the Alumni reception the ben IOIS have reigned supreme And although we will be drifting apart and making new friends the memories of our friends classmates and good times which we had in A H S will always remain in the hearts of the class of 36 Mary F. I-hstory of The Class of 1936 On a brlght and sunny September mornlng rn l924 the members of the class of 36 began thelr school careers Although we were mall m number when we enrolled ln the flrst grade by the tlme we had completed grammar school we had grown ln slze tlll we to that trme we were the largest class ever to S numbered slxty elght Up graduate from Aurora H When we enrolled a Freshmen rn A H S we numbered enghty four of whom forty seven were boys and thnrty seven were glrls Although only green freshles we made the other classes sxt up and take notlce We were awarded flrst prize at the Aurora Farmers Farr ln the School l'loats contest The patrlotlc program whrch we presented at the Grand was out standing Hon Charles P Taft Ill of C ncmnatn was the guest speaker An amusmg play was given also For class officers we elected as Presldent Clar ence Schmaman as vice presldent akle Kabakoff as secretary Ida lVlae Cosby and as treasurer Tom lVl1ller We were represented ln the Boys and Glrls glee clubs orchestra band and athletrcs Our class sponsors were MISS Wilson Mr Abshlre and lVlr Driver Nme students were on the semester honor roll As Sophomores we played a prominent part ln the mus cal and athletic aCtlVltlCS of school We now numbered seventy as we had lost fourteen members The class sponsored a float at the annual falr We gave a Splen dld Christmas program and a novelty dance whrch was one of the largest affalrs of the year Our class officers for this year were Clarence bchma man presldent Tom lVl1ller vlce presldent lda Mae Cosby secretary and EIOISC Glffln treasurer MISS Wilson lVl1ss Teaney and Mr Abshrre were our class sponsors This year there were sixteen on the semester honor roll ln our unlor year Clarence Schmaman was agann elected presldent wlth Charles Clore as vlce presldent Tom Miller as secretary and Mary E.
