Aurora Ho real is ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT OF A. H. S. I 1» I CAPTAIN LUND © 0 We can truthfully say that the basketball season of 1928-29 was really a grand success. A lot of the credit is due to the coach, Mr. Day and to the captain, Arnold Lund. Aurora High was very fortunate indeed in having Mr. Day as coach of athletics. Coach Day has had a great deal of personal experience in all branches of athletics. Just looking ahead one year and realizing that all of the Trojans hut one will be back for a full season of basketball makes us wonder what the old gang will do with the help of every one. “Ted” was the only letterman on the team this year, this being his third year. He played forward, and was a main man in offense, and never lost in defense either. Arnold played his best game on the defense. He played guard. It is doubtful whether lie will play basketball with the Trojans again and he COACH DA 'll be greatly missed. Harold played undoubtedly the hardest position on the lloor. He played center and was a conservative player and could lie depended upon to make a share of the goals. “Moon,” the largest joke on the team, and was indeed the main scorer lor the Trojans. Fortunately the Trojans will be able to depend on him for two more years. “Cherry,” known for his pep and light, played guard and a fast game. He would never quit or give up. “Bert” played a conservative game. Like all of the subs he was prepared to substitute in either the forward or guard position. “Phil also played a good game. Since he is a Sophomore, the Trojans should find considerable support from him in future athletics. “Bob” showed the materials of a good player. He was not in action quite as much as some, hut enough to show his qualities. “Tick” rather ruined his opportunities this year by being gone for some time during the first part of the season. However he has the makings of a good guard. “Fred,” unable to come out until the season was almost over, was of rather untried mettle. He did very well for the time he was out. He wifi not be with us next vear. 9 $ 0 9 0 9 0 0 © 0 ©
