Arriving on 23 June, the ship was assigned the southern section of the I Corps, supporting the U,S, Army. UNDERWAY REPLENISHMENT In order to replenish food, fuel and ammunition while on station, the ship went alongside fleet oilers, ammunition ships and reefer ships on a regular sched- ule. Fuel, ammunition, food and supplies were trans- ferred to AULT While both ships were underway side by side. Fifty-six such replenishments were conducted during daylight and darkness, in fair and foul weather. As much as 81 tons of ammunition were received at one time. Q I
