In company with one cruiser and tw from Cap Lay north to Thanh Hoa. During this time, the ship hosted correspondents from N .B.C., U.P.I. and Newsweek. These were the first war correspondents to board ships on operation Sea Dra on. AULT was fired 8 upon by enemy coastal defense sites on two occasions, but suffered no damage or casualties.
