Ton. theim meg- ulam season play, the Elks had 16 wins and two losses. Entering into the District Toumnament in second place, the Elks played Sunbumst and won easily 60-34. In Tmiday night's semifinal action, the Elks Veil to the Dutton Camdinals 59-61, even by a last 3-second attempt oV Ronda Sangmay stealing the ball and making a halVcouAt shot, which was muled no good. Although the loss was upsetting, the gimls upset theim mtvals, the Belt Huskies, 56-55, who had beaten hem out oV Divisional action last yean by one point.. In Divisional action, the Elks took mevenge on the Dutton Camdinals in fmiday aVtemnoon action aVtem bowing to StanVomd on Thumsday. Tom theim last game oV the season, the Elks lost to the Big Sandy Pioneems. The Distmict 8-C Gemaldine Tigems advanced to State and captumed the title. The boys basketball team won six oV theim megulam season games and they weme in the sixth place standing enteming Distmict Toumnament. Thcs was the V l time■ since 1984, the boys did not have to Vace playing in the sudden death game on Tuesday night. In theim game oV the megulam season, the boys scorned 79 points against the V l pl rce Cen- temville Minem'S- 91 points. This was the most points they scorned in theim season. The Elks saw toumnament ac- tion against Highwood and Powem but weme unVomtunate to be on the winning side. Dutton upset Centemville in the Distmict Championship and High- wood took thimd. Centemville then placed thimd at Divisional.
