3AM » MUSICIANS PERFORM Four superior ratings were brought home by members of the Augusta High School Band on April 4 and 5. The saxaphone quartet consisting of Paula Allen, Ronda Sangray, Janette Arps, and Naomi Wearley played Malaguena to receive their number one rating. Dusty Fasbender and Karlen Hitchcock both brought home a one rating. Dusty played a euphonium solo, Sarabande and Menuette, and Karlen played a trumpet solo, Andante et Allegro, and then the two boys combined their talents with a trum- pet and euphonium duet. Carnival of Venice to give them another superior. Other students competing in the music festival were Dusty Fasbender,piano solo. Prelude 015, Karlen Hitchcock,piano solo, Spanish Dance, Naomi Wearley, flute solo. Gavotte. Deanna Hitchcock, flute solo, A Song Without Words. These students all received a two rating of excellence. A trio of Kevin Fasbender,Karlen Hitchcock, and Dusty Fasbender playing Trumpet Vol- untary also received a two rating. The Augusta High School Band gave a good performance and received a two rat- ing at the District Mu9ic Festival held in Great Falls. The band's performance songs were: Royal Air Force March Post and Coventry. At the State Music Festival in Helena on May 2 and 3, those students with sup- erior ratings again tested their talents. The saxaphone quartet's performance and Dusty's euphoniixn solo both received an excellence rating of two. Karlen's solo and Dusty and Karlen's duet received sup- erior ratings of one at the state level.
