CLASS HISTORY In the Fall of 1976, thirty-four Army recruits marched through the halls of Augusta High School. To lead us through the first attack, we chose Chrissy Fusaro as President, Ty Steinbach as Vice President, Jeff Hoeffner as Treasurer, and Laurie Glaze as Secretary. As Commander in Chief, we chose Mrs. McCarthy. Homecom- ing Candidate Privates were Bill Malek and Laurie Glaze. Our float was entitled Wipe 'Em Out. During the year we lost privates Scott Reesman, Mark Burbridge, Randy Morris, Kathie Roos, Tobe Harpole, Verno- nica Bjorling, and Nancy Wilson. Privates gained were Randy Morris, Pam Varland, Dawn Solberg, and Dave Snyder. Rising to the rank of Sergeant in the Fall of 1977 we picked Susy Taylor as President, Bob Cloninger as Vice President, and Pam Varland to keep track of our meagher earnings and meetings. Mr. Carter was cho- sen as COmmander in Chief to keep us all in line. This year, we chose Sergeants Susy Taylor and Randy Halverson as Homecoming Candidates with Happiness is an Elk Victory as the title of our float This year, we lost Sergeants Peri Peterson and Dawn Solberg. Joe Wood was reported missing in action for one year. During the year, we gained Privates Tammy Fryberger and Karen Mershon. Stepping smartly into our Junior year as Lieutenants, we voted Chrissy Fusaro as President with Libby Allen to assist her as Vice President. Tammy Fryberger was voted as record keeper and Pam Varland to keep track of our earnings. This year we elected Mr. and Mrs. Lee as Commanders in Chief. Lieutenants Pam Var- land and Doug Wood were Homecoming Candidates with Pam as Queen. Our Float, Elks Got the Tigers in the Bag came in second. Our Prom theme was Stairway to Heaven with I Like Dreamin as the theme song. Ram Jet provided the music. We lost Andee Anderson, Terry Hiatt, and Bill Malek. Randy Halverson was reported missing in action for one year. We gained Chelle Pryor and Trina Salisbury. Newly promoted as Generals, the Class of 1980 began its year in power at Augusta High School with Rob- bie Baldry as President, Greg Boadle as Vice President, Tammy Fryberger as Treasurer, and Karen Mershon as Secretary. Mr. Rohnke and Mr. Wilson were elected as Commanders in Chief. Homecoming Candidates were Generals Robbie Baldry and Chris Melaney with Chris being crowned queen. Taking first place was our float entitled Shoot for the Stars. During the year we gained Dave Heldreth, Travis Baker, Barry Miller, and Doug Everhart. We lost Barry Miller and Chelle Pryor. Graduation was held on May 18,1980. 7
