Class History In August of 1970 twenty six freshmen entered the doors of A.H.S. wondering what was in store for them. We chose Don Hilger as our ring leader, Jeri Hoeffner second in command, Rhonda Mosher to keep track of the business, and Byron Collison in charge of the treasure. Mr. Nelson was chosen to referee the battles. Jerrie Hoeffner, our homecoming candidate, was chosen homecoming queen. Her escort was Jim Lambkin. Our sophomore year started with an initiation dance for the freshman class. The election of officers brought into the ranks Bar Nett, president; Jack Mulcare, Vice President; Janet Ingersoll, Secretary; and Becky Garland, Treasurer. Miss Boley was selected as the class sponsor. We elected Janet Ingersoll as our home- coming candidate, and Frank Shanahan as her escort. Bowl them over we did with our homecoming float as it took first place. At graduation Mitzi Heckman and Becky Garland received Heisy Awards. The year passed very quickly and before we knew it we were upperclassmen. Almost at the top of the ladder our class began its junior year by electing Becky Garland, President; Don Hilger, Vice President; Mitzi Heckman, Secretary, and Rhonda Mosher, Treasurer. Mrs. Denham was selected as the class sponsor. Our choice for homecoming royalty was Janet Ingersoll, princess, and her escort was Kent Neal. We also took the float honors for the second year in a row. Rhonda Mosher was chosen as the Girls State Delegate, and Don Hilger and Ray Swenson were chosen as the Boys State Del- egates. Our prom, entitled Pieces of April was a huge success. Rhonda Mosher and Lynn Walters were presented with Heisy Awards at graduation. At last we found ourselves ruling the halls of A.H.S. We chose Don Hilger as leader of the pack, Ray Swen Swenson his right-hand man, Jerrie Hoeffner as the note keeper, and Mitzi to guard the gold. Mr. Wilson was chosen as our sponsor. The windmill was the highlight of homecoming week. Char Fenner was chosen as homecoming candidate, and Mike Arrotta as her escort. In our senior year Augustas football team won the district championship. Our play, Finders Creepers , under the direction of Miss Boley was also a hugh success. Prom royalty was Janet Ingersoll, queen; Mike Arrotta, king; Lynn Walters, princess; and Robbe McDonough, prince. The senior banquet was held at Lambkins in Lincoln, Montana on May 13, 1974. CLASS PROPHECY On the faro ut planet of Mars in the year 2024, the golden reunion of the mighty class of 74 Is about to take place But first they have to be rounded up for the first time in fifty years by their favorite Cr nIe Skinhead Wilson. At his great age he has taken up flying the ultra modern spaceships and has decided to use his favorite one, the D.O.M. (Dirty Old Man) for his Mission. Using the ultra- sonic 91 are of his head as a landing light. Skinhead bravely crashlands his ship at his first stop Hegland s Bar. Inside, not to his surprise, he finds Char Fenner Hegland who is waiting on two'of the old classmates, Frank Shanahan and Kent Neal who are keeping the place in business. After a few quick ones, Char carries the pilot and her old school chums on board and they are soon winging their daLL°.!!e? Yellowstone, just in time for Becky Garland to head her snowmobile into a pit stop where Robbe McDonough, her mechanic and part-time husband, repairs a fouled spark-plug. Since she's out of the race, Becky and Robbe join the growing number of Class of 74 people on the ship Because they re in the area, the group decides to head for Stockett where Ray Swenson owns the largest Rambler Dealership in town. Not doing too badly Ray tells his old friends, but he seems to spend more time re- pairing Ramblers than selling them. On the way to pick up Jay Welch in Washington D.C. where he is running for president of the Snoopy Fan Club, we land at Bismark, North Dakota where Jean Hemmer is taking a correspondence course in shorthand from good old Augusta High. Jean still hopes to become a secretary. Since Washington is such a long ways, we have a stopover in Minneapolis, Minn., where we find to our surprise, Brett Allen, who has a well paying job working as a guinea pig for Breck where they are still trying to discover a straightener that will work on his natural hair. On to Washington and Jay, then down south to Miami where all the retired folks still go. A basketball team has been or- ganized with Jerry Rohlke who has settled there still trying to make the A squad. Back west we go to Houston where Jack Mulcare is doing alright at the Shell Oil Company where they are doing research on his body to help the power shortage by tapping his reserves of excess fuel. Still in Texas we land at Armottillo just in time to see Rhonda Mosher take a turn for the worst in the National Wheelchair Barrel Race. She is there with Mike Arrotta who has entered the Wheel Chair Wild Cow Milking Contest He places a triumphant tenth out of nine participants. Our next stop is in Greely, Colorado where M.tzi Heckman and Lynn Walters can be found. They are the co-owners and cooks at the Senior Citizens Dude Ranch. Tim Cameron we find is doing quite well at his shop in Hollywood where he specializes in unique hairdos. He's had a lot of experience in this line of work as he's worn one since before graduation back in 74 . 18
