Class History The mighty class of 71 started their high school days with initiation presented to them by the class of 1970. After surviving the first three days of being tortured with materials ranging from lipstick to willow branches, they settled into the day-to-day humdrum of high school life. Election of officers presented our class with Kent Mosher, president; Tom Balek, vice-president; Glenda Krezelok, secretary; and Dave Ripley, treasurer. Our class colors were chosen as purple and white. Class sponsor was Cowboy John Nelson. With homecoming nearing we selected Glenda Krezelok as our candidate and Bob Hammel as escort. To make homecoming a real success our class received first place in the float contest. Our money making projects of the year consisted of a few bake sales and car washes. With graduation spinning around Debbie Welch was presented with the Crisco Award for baking. Our sophomore year started off with the smearing of the newcomers to Augusta High. The election of class officers brought into the ranks B. J. McDonough, president; Bob Hammel, secretary; J. T. Weisner, vice-president; and Kent Mosher, treasurer. Mr. Jim Wilson was the sophomore sponsor. As homecoming neared our class came up with another number one float with the announcement being given at half-time of the homecoming game. Our homecoming queen candidate was Debbie Welch escorted by Dave Ripley. The year passed quickly and before we knew it we were upperclassmen. Our new president for the junior year was one of the Lincoln students, Anne Tinsley. Her fellow officers were Glenda Krezelok, vice-president; Nyleen Anderson, secretary; and Barb Martin, treasurer. Mr. Rohnke was chosen as our class sponsor against his better judgement. Homecoming gave our class one more honor--Nyleen Anderson was chosen as princess and her escort was Dave Ripley. Student Council officers from our class included B. J. McDonough, vice president, and Glenda Krezelok, secretary-treasurer. Glenda, Nyleen, and B. J. were presented Heisey awards at graduation. Our prom theme was Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head . Decorations consisted of several shades of blue paper and miniature umbrellas cascading from the ceiling. Music was provided by the Missing Lynx. Nyleen Anderson and B. J. McDonough and J. T. Weisner represented our school at Girl's and Boy's States. Soon we ruled the halls of old AHS—we were the all-powerful invulnerable senior class. Hitting the road to success we elected Glenda Krezelok to the president's chair, B. J. McDonough as vice-president; Nyleen Anderson as secretary, and J. T. Weisner as treasurer. The Frito Bandito was our sponsor. Annual members included Tom Balek, Editor; Kent Mosher, assistant editor; Doug Freeman, business manager; B. J. McDonough, work-horse; and Vickie Malatere and Debbie Welch, photographers. Glenda Krezelok and Bob Hammel also were members of the staff. Tom Balek was elected as the student council president. Anne Tinsley was chosen as princess at Homecoming with Doug Freeman escorting. The Senior Play, Rest Assured, was well received much to the thanks and effort of Miss Diane Boley. Though at times boring and annoying, none can regret the hours spent in high school—a double asset both as an unforgettable experience and a key to a successful future. 18

Class Prophecy The senior class of 1971 all went their own ways after their graduation in May. However, in the present year, 2,000, A. D., all the members of this class are residing in Bickle, Montana. Their occupations vary from the very strange to the very common. Ross Geise is the local bee trainer. It is known that he is doing very well for himself as his is a rare occupation. His neighbor, Linda Haugen, sometimes becomes a little irate with Mr. Geise as she is often stung by his pets. This is to the astonishment of the whole community as bees are known to attack only the sweet things in life. Tom Balek is a very prominent professor in Bickle. He is now teaching a special education class for slow learners. Among his students are Patty and Rick Grogan, and Jackie Hoeffner, who are enrolled to further their education. The students are progressing fast and are now learning to tie their shoes. Jackie, who tries hard and has an exceptional memory can be seen sitting in the comer reciting the directions, the left string over. .., no I think its the right. .. Well, Jackie tries anyway. Nyleen and J. T.'s hot romance has cooled off considerably. They are married now, and J. T. doesn't treat her as good as he should. Nyleen is still remembering the way things used to be; they say mooses never forget. J. T. is blind to her plea's as he can't see past the end of his nose. Joy went into the medical field and is the only veterinarian for miles around. B. J. makes frequent trips to the Severtson Clinic to obtain advice for his aardvark breeding experiment. Luigi Freeman is the owner of the largest Milky Way Store in the state, and through his efforts, has become a Milky Way Millionaire. In order to overcome high taxes, Luigi is converting the outhouse out back into a cheese cutting factory. Judy and Anne can usually be seen driving around in Judy s beat up '63 Rambler. Yes, it's still running with an occasional tune up—an overhaul every week. Debbie and Lloydene are still attending the basketball tournaments in Great Falls. Just having fun , as the girls would say. Nancy Buoma has opened a Bakery called Buoma's Buns. Nancy is very content with her life of baking buns. Bob Hammel has turned detective and is still stumped on the big case of Whatever Happened to the 1971 Basketball Keg . Linda Neal is the town beautician who specializes in short hair cuts. Kent owns a sports shop in town, where they specialize in extra-large-sized football helmets. Jerry is employed at the MOSHER SPORTS ENTERPRISE, and takes care of the cash register. Glenda is living with her parents, and Randy Morris sure bums up the Krezelok road quite often. Rumor has it that he is courting. Vicky and Lenny, who have a few years on the rest of the class, are now retired. The class of '71 lives a peaceful life in Bickle, and surely they wouldn't trade it for anything; on this, you can REST ASSURED. 17
