BUDDY GOSS wills his great love of history class to anyone who isn't smart enough to take a correspondence course in Civics. DEANNE HINDBERG wills her good times in South Dakota to anybody who wants them and her wall to Karen, her sister. SIS GARLAND wills her measurements to Doug Freeman and her love for Mike Olsen to Mr. Wilson (he could use it.) SHERRY MORRIS wills her trip to Missoula to next years typing II class and her long hair to Kris Henry. CONNIE WEISNER wills her nose to Sally Shortridge and her height to Danny Barrett. DICK HAMMEL wills his car to anyone who hasn't already stolen it and his browny points with Coach that Dick earned by taking out Coach's sister-in-law, to Bill Koch. DON MILLS wills his great athletic ability to Denny Dellwo and John Tuomi. There is enough to go around. MARY ANDERSON wills her sex appeal to Ruth Ferguson and her hair to Tom Balek. BILL SCHRADER wills his chevy to anyone ignorant enough to take it and his ability to keep girls on a string to Denny Dellwo. MARK CHRISTIAN wills Old Blue to anyone who wants it and his ability for planning keggers to next years seniors. TOM ECKERSON doesn't will anything to anybody as he is to cheap to give anything away. PAT McDONOUGH wills his laugh to Dave Ripley who just loves it and his gas cap to anyone who finds it on Main Street. LORRY DELLWO wills her boy problems to Debbie Welch and her love for football keggers to Connie Weisner who can never find them. RICK RIPLEY wills his romance with Pat McDonough to Ross Geise and Doug Freeman and his home in Lincoln to anyone who wants to live there. DAN SHANAHAN wills his freshman girlfriend to the third graders because she is built like one, he also wills his spotlighting ability to Scott Cornell. DAN FREEMAN wills his ability to collect reward money to George Greitl and his wavy hair to Ross Geise. MIKE OLSEN wills his quiet ways to Bob Anderson and wills Lorry Dellwo to the Great Northern Railroad. 15

CLASS HISTORY In September of 1965, twenty-three freshmen entered the doors of Augusta High School to begin the first of four years of high school. For Class officers we elected Mike Olson as presi- dent; Mark Christian as vice president; and Sis Garland as secretary. Eva Anseth was chosen as our class sponsor. Ten new students came that year. They were Rick Ripley, Linda McKnight, Mikie Wilden, Virginia MacFarland, Shelley Shellinger, Doug Morrison, Dave Morrison, Patsy Lapke, Dick Hammel and Sis Garland. Jim Reeves and Linda McKnight left. Patsy Lapke was chosen as homecoming princess with Rick Ripley as her escort. As sophomores, we held an initiation dance for the freshmen. Our class officers were president, Mark Christian; Beth Hilger, vice president; secretary, Patrick McDonough; and treasurer, Mikie Wilden. Our sponsor was Betty Ginther. Virginia MacFarland, Mike Rea, Tom Eckerson, and Dan Shanahan left us that year. Mikie Wilden and Dick Hammel were our homecoming candidates. As juniors, we felt pretty smart. Our class officers were president, Bill Schrader, vice presi- dent was Mikie Wilden; secretary was Connie Weisner; and treasurer was Sis Garland. Sponsor was Mark Mozer. The best prom that the school ever put on was Love is Blue. King and queen of the prom were Clyde Overman and Zonda Simpson. Boys' state representative was Mark Christian with Bill Schrader as alternate. Connie Weisner was the girls' representative with Mary Anderson as alternate. Our homecoming queen and king were Connie Weisner and Dick Hammel. Finally we became seniors with Clift Wilson as our sponsor. Officers were Danny Freeman, president; Buddy Goss, vice president, Sis Garland, secretary; and Lorry Dellwo treasurer. We lost Mikie Wilden but gained David Burke who left during the year. Homecoming queen in our senior year was Lorry Dellwo with Buddy Goss as her escort. Instead of a Christmas dance, we had a pizza party and sleigh ride at the LF Ranch. Our senir play was Valley of Ghosts by Jacob Lear. Stars of the play were Tom Eckerson, Deanne Hindberg, Bill Schrader and Connie Weisner. Instead of taking a sneak day, the seniors chos senior privileges. Our senior banquet was held at the 7-UP Guest Ranch on May 13. Seniors who completed the twelve years of school in Augusta are Deanne Hindberg, Bill Schrader, Don Mills, Mark Christian, Buddy Goss, Mary Anderson, Connie Weisner, Lorry Dellwo, and Dan Freeman. The history of the 1969 senior class ended with Baccalaureate on May 25 and graduation on May 26. 14

CLASS ANCESTRY For many years, the junior class of A.H. S. has been called upon to write the prophecy for the outgoing seniors. The class of 1970, which was given that great honor this year, decided that we wouldn't submit a prophecy, rather we would attempt to capture the character of the seniors by the actions of their ancestors. By some startling coincidence, the ancestors of our beloved seniors all made their way here by wagon train in the late 19th century. EZEKIEL CHRISTIAN was the leader of this expedition and later financed the first speech-therapy school in Montana. Very important to the survival of the expedition were its hunters, MORTIMER ECKERSON, CO-CO OLSON, AND AUGIE GARLAND, the latter hunting nothing but mountain lions since she insisted that they were very good eating. It is indeed surprising that SPUDS SCHRADER and GREAT FOWSH HAMMEL ever made it to Montana for SCHRADER was always repairing his broken down wagon, and FOWSH was forever having his wagon stolen. SPELL-DOWN RIPLEY never did make it to Montana for he was thrown from the back of a wagon driven by DROPSEY MCDONOUGH. DR. GOSS was also along on the expedition and became famous when his face appeared on a DR. GOSS Cure-All tonic bottle. BOONE SHANAHAN did a thriving business in Bozeman after he set up a funeral parlor. Part of his success was due to T.J. FREEMAN'S skill in finding corpses. Along on this trip were LODGEPOLE HINDBERG who stopped at Hot Springs in search of a husband, and MAVIS DELLWO who started a chain of weight-reducing salons. HANDS MILLS was ancestor to many of Montana's greatest athletes, and FLASH ANDERSON became a marvelous photographer on the trip. Often in the early morning, it was possible to see DURANTE WEISNER scurring about picking up empty medicine bottles that CHUG-A-LUG MORRIS had quickly disposed of. . 16
