CLASS HISTORY On September 7 1954 23 sheeprsh 1m1tat1ons of comrc strrp characters passed tl-rough the doors of ole' Augusta Hrgh Nme days after school commenced Neva Pronteau transferred to Malta At Chrrstmas tune Ronn1e and Lee Frost and Rrchard Horner left also In the sprrng of1955 Larry Lmk enrolled at Augusta, Drck Edwards moved to Great Falls and Dan Weaver w1thdrew, leavrng 17 students On September 14, class offrcers were elected They were Art Buell pres1dent Kenny McLean v1ce presrdent, Paul Thomas, secretary Drck Cosgrrffe treasurer Mr A Tuomr was selected class sponsor In the fall of 1955 Edna Falcon and Larry Lmk drd not return, but Dlck Edwards re enrolled, settrng the enrollment at 17 We feelrng revenge proceeded to annoy and parnt the freshmen durrng 1n1t1at1on Class off1cers were Don Johnson presrdent, Paul Thomas, vrce pres1dent Carolyn Allen secretary B111 Mosher, treasurer Mr Foster was elected sponsor In January Gene Greene a transfer student from Mrssoula en rolled Ourjunror class was cut to 17 members smce Opal Pocha and Sharon Arrotta were mar rred and drd not return Ed Rrchter a transfer student from Helena, enrolled Gene Greene was elected pres1dent of the class Don Johnson, vrce presrdent Lorna Wearley, secretary, and Carolyn Allen treasurer We ordered our class rrngs on October 4th and were weanng them early rn December Thrs was one of our most rmportant years be cause we had to sponsor the prom CRYSTAL BALLROOM ' was chosen as our prom theme Carolyn Allen and Lorna Wearly were selected to go to Grrls' State, and Koreen Hrtchcock and MaDonna Mrller were alternates Gene Greene and Drck Cosgrrffe went to Boys State wrth Paul Thomas and Don Johnson as alternates Thrs was an rmportant year for us, but the most 1mportant year was yet to come We started our semor year wxth 17 members but I-larrrett Palmer soon left, leavrng the class enrollment at 16 Our semor class off1cers were Drck Cosgrrffe presrdent, Paul Thomas, v1ce presrdent Lorna Wearley secretary, and Kenny McLean treasurer At last rt seemed we were really gorng to graduate, when we ordered our announcements on September 11 and had our sen1or prctures taken on October nrnth Thrs was a very busy year for all the sen1ors We all partrcrpated 1n the Junror Senror Play DESPERATE AMBROSE whrch was held March 28 On May o, the semors qu1etly left the country for therr enjoyable sneak day leavmg the Junrors as the mrghty rulers of A H S Don Johnson was chosen va1ed1ctor1an and Carolyn Allen salutatorran Baccalaureate was held May 18 and on May 21 16 SCDIOYS graduated 1 1 L - 9 ' 1 J ' 1 , .
