Class H lstor On September 3 1952 twelve fun lov1ng 1nexper1enced freshmen entered the sacred halls of Augusta H1gh School As we entered the sophomores descended 1nagroup and we were soon changed mto a very wexrd group The next day nobody knew us for we were dressed up 1n our cos tumes After successfully passmg through the 1n1t1at1on we settled down and elected our class offlcers They were Bob Bean Presldent Dlck Converse Vxce Pres1dent Joe Bohler Secretary and Karen Mosher Treasurer Our class sponsor was Mr Don Call Dur1ng the year Jake Greene and Pete Swan left us thus leavrng us Wlth ten 1n our class We started our second year of school by tak1ng up the art of pa1nt1ng Those poor freshmen Audrey Leonhard d1d not return that fall but our class kept 1ts number when V1v1an Lerum Joxned The class offlcers for th1s year were Karen Mosher Presxdent Noel Mosher V1ce Pres ldent and Bob Bean Secretary Treasurer Mr Gall was agarn chosen to be our class sponsor and helped us a lot durmg the year Not long after school started Bob Edwards moved to Great Falls We fxmshed the year wlth nme IH our class Our off1cers for the Junlor year were Noel Mosher Pres1dent Bob Bean Vlce Presxdent V1v1an Lerum Secretary and Karen Mosher Treasurer Mr Fred Westman was our class sponsor and was a great help especlally for the prom and also for many other occas1ons On September 10 we ordered our class rxngs and were wearmg them by November 29 Rlght after football season Kxm Adamson Jolned our class to 1ncrease It to ten Thls bemg the year we were responsb1le for the prom we plunged to the task of gettmg a theme and decorat1ng the gymnasmm Hawauan Sunset' was selected as our theme The gymnaslum was whmte were domlnant A scene of Hawa11an sunsetwas shown on the stage w1th a grass hut wh1ch was used for servmng punch Elaborate palm trees were placed around the gymnaslum The prom was held on Apr1l ZZ Durmg the year V1v1an Lerum moved to Valler and Helen Foster left us Our class was then reduced to elght D1ck Converse took over the Job of Secretary for the remamder of the year Bob Bean and D1ck Converse were elected toattend Boys' State and Noel Mosher represented Augusta at G1rls' State We are now sen1ors Wonder how we made It Our class was mcreased by a new member Mav1s Bergstrom who came from Nashua Our off1cers for thls year are Karen Mosher Pres1dent Don McBratney V1ce Presldent Noel Mosher Secretary and Mav1s Bergstrom Treasurer Our sponsors for th1s year are Mr Paul Rohnke and Mr Arthur Tuom1 The Annual and Lar1at staffs were chosen Bob Bean was Edltor and Dlck Converse Asslstant Ed1tor for the Larlat Staff For the Annual Staff Noel Mosher was Ed1tor and John Vandeberg Asszstant Ed1tor As you know John 1S a Jumor On September 13 the Sen1ors ordered the1r announcements Were we really go1ng to use them 'P On the Z3 rd of November the Sen1ors went to Great Falls and had the1r pxctures taken at De Mxur Studmo The Sen1or party whlch was held on December Z0 turned out to be a huge success The muszc was afforded by Ray Kay and Ahce from Helena The Sen1or and .Tumor play STOP THE WEDDING turned out to be a bxg success even better than we hoped Mr Rohnke d1rected Sneak Day was May 8 We learned somethmg at the Hosp1tal and the Pr1son and we had fun oo At last Graduatxon week arrxved Baccalaureate was held on May Z0 the Semor Banquet on May Z1 and Commencement on May 23 Nme sen1ors graduated 6 O Y Q . 1 1 I t .1 1 . l .
