Last Will and Testament of the Class of '53 We, the Senior Class of 1953, City of Augusta, County of St. Charles, State of Missouri, being sound of mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our Last Will and Testament, in manner and from following, hereby repealing and will or wills, heretofore made by us. First: We, the class leave our co-operation and ability to get along with others to next year's class with fond hope that they will do like- wise after' our departure. We, the Senior Class of 1953, do hereby be- queath our numerous possessions thusly: Keith A. wills his ability as an artist to Florence Cross, who does well already. Leon K. leaves his photographic ability to Wayne Heger who seems to like the job. Robert K. wills his he ight to Charles Patterson. Omar M. leaves his giggling and noise making to anyone in the study hall who feels mean enough. Lavon F. wills his score -keeping ability to Pete Koelling who would like the job. Elvin O. leaves his ability to make passing grades to Mops Opfer who could use them. Omar F. wills his wavy hair to someone less fortunate. Earl M. wills his joke telling ability to Wilma T. who could use a few chuckles. Hereunto I have set my hand and seal knowing that allthe provisions herein proclaimed are as unalterable and indissoluble as the famous laws of the Medes and Persians. Class of 1953.

Senior Class History The histories of the preceeding pages are personal histories,-but yet there is to be recorded the history of the Senior Class as a whole. We began our first year in the Augusta High School 11949, with an enrollment of ten students. Nine members of the class were boys. Dur- ing our Freshman year we were active in glee club, social events, and athletics. We began our second year by' giving the Freshmenan initiation party. In this year we were sorry to say good-bye to two of our classmates, Ann Bundenthal, moving- to St. Louis, and Glwnnon Gravemann, who sought employment in the International Shoe Company in Washington, Missouri. During our Junior year at A, H. S. we had but one goal in mind, presenting the Seniors with a banquet. We raisedmoney for this event by giving a play entitled, Aaron Slick From Punkin Crick, and giv- ing a box supper for the high school. The. Senior Class of 1933 was proud to play a small part in helping dedicate the new auditorium on February 14, 1953. Three of the Senior Class members began the ir education in the Augusta Grade School twelve years ago and will be the first to graduate in the new addition, they are: Elvin Osthoff, Omar Mallinckrodt, and Earl Mallinckrodt. This year, also, there has been a lot of work getting the yearbook ready for publication. We chose Omar Fischer as Editor-in-Chief and Robert Knoernschild as Assistant Editor. We are very proud of our Memoria and we hope it will be one of the best ever published.

Broadcasting 1963 By Lavon Fischer Here it is the tenth anniversary of my graduation from Augusta High School. Ihave fulfilled my high school dreams and am now employed, as a sports announcer, by one of Augusta's television stations, KAUG-TV. At the moment I am in the Audif01'i11m of Augusta University, where the championship game, between Augusta and Notre Dame, is about to be played. As I am waiting for the game to begin, my mind seems to wander from the scene of action and I am beginning to see pictures of my former classmates through the television camera in front of me. The first portrait I see is that of Keith Albers. He has a job with Look magazine, drawing the colored commercial advertising pages, a job he richly deserves- Keith it has been said, is drawing a check of about 52,000 a week. The second picture that flashes on the screen looks like that of a farmer. Now it is beginning to become clearer and the face looks familiar. Yes! it is my Old C1655- mate, Elvin Osthoff. Elvin is the owner of the Osthoff ranch consisting of about 10,000 acres. Elvin also has a job as Assistant Administrator of Agriculture in the Legis- lature of Missouri. Let's take another look into the television camera. It is now focused on Omar Mallinckrodt. Omar is now the proud father of two sons and president of the Mallin- ckrodt. Omar is now the proud father of two sons and president of the Mallinckrodt Breweries. After graduating from Augusta High School, Omar was given the job as vice-president of the Pabst Breweries in Milwaukee. After becoming president, he bought the company from its original owners and renamed the beer, Mallinckrodt's Pink Ribbon . Omar's oldest son, Little Ohms, Jr., is the next in line for the pres- idency. Now let's turn the camera on another member of the class of '53. His name is Earl Mallinckrodt. Earl never stated his aim in life while in high school, but I have just learned that he is a member of the Air Force. Earl is famous as a jet ace, having shot down Z0 MIGS in 10 missions. In 1953 a jet ace was only required to destroy 5 MIGS , but since Earl entered the Air Force, the standards were changed. Good Luck, Earl! The next face to appear looks familiar. Yes! I know him now, it is Robert Knoerns- child. Bos is now a famed engineer for the Atomic Energy Commission. Bob is work- ing on a rocket ship that is scheduled to leave for the moon in 1965. Well! I'll be seeing you when you return from the moon, Bob. Next I must turn the camera on the engineer by my side. He is my classmate, Leon Knoernschild. Leon has been with KAUG-TV since his graduation from Missouri University in 1957. Leon is also the owner of the Knoernschild's Department Store in downtown Augusta. The referee is about ready to toss the ball into the air to start the game. The ref- eree is another classmate of mine, Omar Fischer. Omar referees as a hobby when he is not working as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank of Schluersburg. A The crowd is cheering as the Augusta Owls come onto the floor, so I must end this pleasant visit with my former classmates and begin describing the action of the game to the television audience.
