During that wonderful year of 1962-63, the Sophomore class of 43 members and our ad- visors, Mr. Bowsher and Mrs. Penner, en- joyed many money -making projects. We started the year by initiating the Fresh- men. A record hop for the Freshmen was held after the initiation. During the course of the year, we sold pencils with the basketball schedule printed on them. In March, we sponsored a semi- formal St. Patrick ' s Day Dance. The decorations left a favorable impression on those who attended. On April 10 the long-awaited day came when we were able to order our class rings. This year ' s officers were: Connie Long, Treasurer; Dave Fohner, Student Council; Ronnie Grimes, Vice President; Sandra Yen- ser, President; Marilyn Andrews, Secretary; Jeanne Meeks, News Reporter. They began the year with a Sadie Hawkins Dance which turned out to be very successful. Oakwood High School pennants were sold and the annual candy bar sale was again encountered. The class play Finders Creepers was presented April 26, 1963 under the direction of Mr. Roughton. The Junior -Senior prom entitled On A Tropic Isle presented to the Seniors May 4, 1963 was a success. OFFICERS The year started off with a big bang as fifty-three eager freshmen entered the doors of Oakwood High School. Our advisors were Mr. Rinehard and Mr. Out- land. During the year we lost Mr. Outland and gained Mr. Harrison. On October 25, we sponsored a Halloween Skate at the Wood-U -Drive Inn. At the P.T.A. carnival our class held a record hop which everyone enjoyed. The freshman team became tourney champs for the first time. Many congratulations to the team for the fine work. Our second activity was a skate on March 21. This year ' s officers were: Ted Burt, President; Bob Shaffer, Treasurer; Betty Schlatter, Secretary; Shirley Wolfe, President; Vic Dunlap, Vice President.
