Dunlap, starts the session off with his usual greeting. Mr. Dunlap has a very busy schedule, but he is always ready and willing to take time to dis¬ cuss problems with students and teachers. Besides his regular duties he is adviser to the Student Council. Mr. Dunlap received his B. S. Degree from Defiance College and his M. S. from Bowling Green State University. Principal Having the official titles of Principal, Guidance Counsellor, Basketball Coach, and Athletic Director, Mr. Wayne E. Miller is kept extreme¬ ly busy with matters pertaining to the efficient operation of the school, but he always has time to work with the students. Mr. Miller plans the school guidance policies and keeps attendance records of the high school students. He also teaches the Health and So¬ ciology classes. He received his B. S. Degree from the University of Toledo and is also work¬ ing on his M. Ed. from the same college. School Board The Board of Education is the agent responsible for establishing and apprais¬ ing the educational activities of our school. The citizens on the board have regular meetings with Mr. Dunlap to outline the policies of the program. The members of the Board are: Richard Hornish, Robert Weible, Warren An- spach, Dean Young, Beryl Leatherman, and Barbara Donley, who served as Clerk of the Board of Education. MR. I, Donald Winchester, bequeath my quitness to Doug Weller. 22 Class History In September of 1958, forty-eight anxious Freshman entered the gates of Auglaize Brown Local. Our advisors were Miss Williams and Mrs. Gillet. Those who were initiated and became full-pledged members of O. H. We gained four new students, Victoria Olvera, Larry Stork, Walter Thomas, and Jim Lawrence. The following September, 1960, we entered Auglaize-Brown Local as Juniors. We lost two students over the summer. They were: Elizabeth Farris and Dinah Schlegel. Our advisors, Miss McQuilkin and Mr. Woodring helped the class plan and present the Seniors with the Junior-Senior Banquet, Rendezvous of the Stars. On October 27, we presented our class play, In Spring the Sap, under the direction of Mr. Outland. Class officers were: President, Doug McBride; Vice-President, Steve Huff; Secretary, Carol Frederick; Treasurer, Mary Lou Schwaderer; News Reporter, Susan Mohr; Student Council Repre¬ sentative, Jim Lawrence. We received our class rings around Christmas time, and were just as proud as punch of them. In September 1961 we re-entered O.H. S. as Seniors, under the guidance of Mr. William Rohrs and Mr. Boyd. Those students not returning were: Dana Goodenough, Sue Shaffer, Linda Breckler, Carolyn Brown, Barbara Scherer, Walter Thomas, Larry Stork, Viola Bradford, Jim Lawrence transferred to Sidney, Ohio, and Jean Bidlack to Paulding High School. We had money making activities to help finance our senior trip. We Seniors had our pictures taken in November 1961 and received them in December. We also received our announcements and name cards in early April. We Seniors presented our Senior class play, One Wild Night under the direction of Mr. Outland. The Seniors want to thank the Junior class which presented us with a lovely prom May 12. The Oakwood Bobcats finished the season with a record of 17 _ wins and 7 losses. In the Glandorf Holiday Tournament the Bobcats were runners-up, losing to Glandorf in the final. During the regular season the Cats won 10 straight league games, extending their streak to 29 straight league wins. In the county tournament at Paulding, the Cats came out on top, winning over Antwerp, Grover Hill and Payne in the final. In the Sectional Tournament at Defiance, the Cats were beaten by Edgerton 50-47. Making the All County First Team this year were Steve Huff and Gary Gerken. On the second team were George Carnahan and Rollie Andrews. Steve and Gary were placed on the Toledo Blade County First Team. At the Athletic Banquet the guest speaker was Harold Anderson, head coach at Bowling Green State University. Gary Gerken was awarded the Booster Award for the most valuable player, and also the Sportsmanship Award presented by the Rose Oak Archery. Marty Harmon was awarded the Cooper Award for sportsmanship for a reserve player. Many thanks to Mr. Miller who coached our Varsity and Reserve teams through their victorious season.
