Originality, initiative and organization are the traits which characterize the staff. Among the unique features appearing in this year's papers were cartoons, an exchange student column, an interview with The Association, a sales contest, extensive student participation via Dear Polly , Parrot Polls , What I want for Christmasu, New Year's Resolutions . Furthermore, a September issue had been published. A comprehensive paper was the outgrowth of the staff's diligence. awww! Le Souvenir Double-checking the yearbook dummy for accuracy and artistry are Carol Rittmayer, Editor-in-Chief, and Bob Doherty, Associate Editor. Every picture used in the yearbook must be scaled to proportiong Art Editor Priscilla Powell demonstrates the mechanics of this operation to Club Editor David Halbert. Industry, ingenuity, loyalty blended in generous proportions yield a new edition of Le Souvenir. Ap- pointed from the senior class, an editorial staff pro- duces as complete a pictorial and factual record of the current school year as possible. A business stai, likewise appointed from the senior class, is respon- sible for payment of the expense of publication. Organized and activated a full year prior to the release of the yearbook, each staff is reciprocally dependent upon the other. At the Class Night Party in June, the contents of Le Souvenir are divulged for the first time as each senior receives his own copy. In selecting pictures to represent our major sports, Bonnie Deckman and Galen Reser, Sports Editors, are faced with difficult decisions. Tom Beebe fcenterl and his staff-Greg Welsh, Amy Davenport, Ann Birney and LeRoy Caron-count and record all the under- class subscriptions for the yearbook. Proofs for lists of patrons and for the advertising copy are examined by Charles Samuel, Linda Kates, Larry Miller and Linda Ennis. Maureen McCracken, Administrative Manager, and Charles Resnick, auditor, demonstrate their proficiency when balancing the accounts and recording the yearbook expenditures. Club President Marie Celia and our exchange student, Karen Grove-Nielson, work closely in trying to get students involved in all A.F.S. activities. The organization with a significant and far-reaching effect on the student body, faculty members, and com- munity is the American Field Service. The school chapter is sponsored by Mr. Samuel Steinruck. Not only did A.F.S. sponsor the coming of Karen Grove- Nielson, our Danish exchange student, but also it provides us yearly with a most enjoyable assembly program when several of the neighboring schools' exchange students are invited to participate in a panel discussion. The highlight of our year with Karen was the Interna- tional Ball. This annual semi-formal affair never fails to provide all Who attend with an evening where music and dancing are enhanced by diverse conversation. The theme It's a Small World, was tastefully carried out in decora- tions which suggested an atmosphere of good will. Coached by Mr. John Kling, the Green Wave churned through turbulent waters all season long. The two-fold problem was the inability to get the team to Kjell in the face of very strong competition throughout the always tough Colonial Conference. Co-Captains Bob Preziosi and Tom Furman handled the ball and shot from the outside, While Dennis McKeever, Bobby Rickenbach, and Joe Neal were the principal rebounders and inside shooters. The Wave finished with a record of 11 Wins and 11 losses, 8 and 6 in the Conference, tying for third place. Colonial Conference individual honors were awarded to Joe Neal, All-Colonial First Team, Bob Preziosi, Tom Furman, and Bobby Rickenbach, All-Colonial Honorable Mention. Thomas Furman Robert Preziosi Co-Captain Co-Captain Exact form is a requirement in making a jump shot such as Bob Preziosi demon- strates during the action packed Coll's game. During a time out on the court, Coach John Kling introduces a new offensive strategy at court side. Barbara Thompson studies the basket cau- tiously as she sets up for a shot while avoiding an onrushing opponent. l An essential principle in guarding is to maneuver with the arms outstretched, as exemplified by Captain Linda Kates.
