Over the water so fraught with fears, We sail to meet the rushing years. Bravely we go to face the test, With smile and laugh and hearty jest, For wind and wave no dangers hold When hopes are high and hearts are bold When the last shore light fades from view, And far behind lies the land we knew, When the Hre of hope burns dim and low And mists obscure the North Star's glow, When veering winds beset our sails, And clouds hang low with impending gales, When we doubt our course and where the port, And wonder -if all has been for naught. Then we'll turn to charts made long ago With book in hand and eyes aglowg When we laid our course and mapped the way, To a land of dreams and a bright new day. And we'll grasp the wheel and face again, Into the spray, the dark, and the rain. With precepts old and concepts new, We'll keep to the course till dreams come true. -David Hammond
