 The S c h o ho School of Engineering is perhaps the fastest growing of all schools on the Auburn campus. With •his rapid growth Auburn has developed ore of the best engineering schools in the nation. 'he school requires that a student be fu ly prepared to meet the necessary standards and assume responsibility in modern industry. The school offers baccalaureate degrees in aeronautical, civil and electrical engineering. In aO-dition, options in communications, electric power, engineering ohysics. mechanical engineering, textile engineering, aeronautical administration, industrial management, and textile management are offered. The curriculum in engineering is basically the same :or all different branches for the first 'wo years. The last two years may be devoted to specialization courses in the particular field desired. For these students wishing to obta'n a Master's degree in engi-naming, a fifth year of gracuate work is offered. The programs of study have been liberalized by the inclusion of a series of social studies and literature course which extend through the four years of the Curriculum. Students who qraduate in the engineering or management curricula are prepared for many positions of responsibility in industry, engineering organizations, and government aqencies. Auburn engineering graduates are greatly in demand by the government.

 1 The School Opportunities in education for home and family living and job insurance are offered in the Home Economics Curriculum. fa Family Life ond Nursery Education, work with children in pre-school laboratories increases understanding of the nature of children, and provides experience in working with them effectively as individuals. and in groups. Family Life Research evaluates conditions that can be charged, circumstancos that are anticipated, and things that require acceptance w th a wholesome philosophy of life. The field of clothing and textiles gives personal satisfaction in providing clothing for o family, and it con lead to professions in retailing, journalism, or textiles. Foods and Nutrition g'ves us dietitians, caterers in hotels and c'ubs. food technologists and research workers. Future homemakers should plan to study Home Management, while young women seeking vocational work in rural areas should enter Home Demonstra tion. After studying Nursing Science at Auburn for three years, a girl may transfer to an accredited hospital for the Registered Nurse certif'cate. The curriculum for all Home Economics students is similar the first two years. This similarity gives the girls a basic knowledge of all fields of Home Economics. The students are then more able to choose the -ield n which they wish to specialize.
