RALPH B. ORAUGHON
President Ralph B. Draughon has inspired and encouraged the following improvements at Auburn during the fiscol year 1957-1958.
The 1957 1958 budget increase was used entirely to obtain o revised salary scale. The new academic policy was charged to endorse scholarly goals of the faculty which include dedication to the advancement of knowledge through the search for freedom to teach the truth. All professors relieved of their job are given written statements of the reasons and are allowed a hearing with the Board of Trustees. Other improvements were: seventy-five tnousand dollars was granted by the Atomic Energy Commission for atomic energy training; Non Acaoemic Personnel Office was established: twelve women s dormitories and two dormitory units for men were named: the scholarship ;und was increased. These improvements will help Auburn remain the leading educational in-stitut on in the South. Dr. Draughon. by backing these fine improvements, furthered Auburn's growth in spiritual and educational wealth.

VERNON S. SUMMERLIN is the representative from the 2nd District. He was born in Fuller Cron Roads. Alabama and d d not attend college.
ECGAR I. WYNN is tho representative from the 4th District. He wes born in Talladega. Alabama, ond graduated from Auburn.
GEORGE H. WRIGHT is the representative from the 3rd District. He was born in Auburn. Alabama, end graduated from A-ibutn.
