I hc Department of Architecture is accredited by the National rcliitcctural ccrediling Board, is endorsed l» the American Institute of rehileels. and is a member of the ssoeiation of Collegiate Schools i f Architecture. Courses are olTered leading to degrees in rchitocture. Interior Design. and Building Construction. The Department of Art offers six options: Advertising Design. Painting. Illustration. Textile Design. Fashion Illustration. and Industrial Design. All lead to the degree of Bachelor of Applied Art. The courses in Dramatic Arls offer, to those interested in the various aspects of the theatre, a well-balanced combination of theoretical study and practical work in play production. acting, and stagecraft. To the student wishing to major in music, the Department of Music offers a full program of studies. Courses are also taught by specialists in pplicd Music. Positions occupied l y Auburn agricultural graduates include not only those in farming, but also those in industry and businesses related to farming, in the nation's great forest industries, in agricultural research ami education. in foreign agricultural service, in wildlife work, in agricultural communications, and in many other segments of the agricultural industry. Agricultural training for these leaders is conducted h ten departments in the School of griculture that offer the Bachelor of Science degree in six curriculums: Agricultural Science. Agricultural Administration. Agricultural Kngi-neering. forestry. Ornamental Horticulture, and the Zoological Sciences. student may major in one of more than a dozen different fields within these curriculums. Recognition is also given to the ever-increasing demands for agricultural specialists with graduate training which is offered at the Master's level by all departments in the School of Agriculture and at the Pli.l). level by four departments.

Auburn's School of Chemistry offers curricula designed to train the student in the fundamentals of the sciences together with advanced courses in chemistry and physics. The School is made up of the Department of Chemistry. Chemical Knginecring and Laboratory Technology, ami offers four-year curricula leading to degrees of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Chemical Knginecring, The School is housed in the Boss Chemical Laboratory which contains the Krnerson K. Miller Library and fully c |uip|M’d modern lalroratories. The School also has departments located in Wilmore Knginecring Laboratory. A major source of strength in the School of Chemistry rests in tin- fact that the facultx is active both in teaching and in research.
