In the Department of Architecture the student may prepare for a professional career of Architecture, Interior Design, or Build- ing Construction, in the Department of Landscape Architecture training is provided to fit the student for planning aesthetic and efficient use of the land, in the Department of Art the student may pursue worlc toward a professional career in Advertising Design, Painting, Illustration, Textile Design, Fashion Illustration or Industrial Design, in the Department of Dramatic Arts courses are offered to those students who are interested in the theatre, in the Department of Music there is opportunity for development of individual ability in any part of the field of music. All instruction aims to develop in the student a fertile imagination, skillful craftsman- ship, and methodical habits of worlc. A physical plant second to none in this region and a staff composed of professionally trained specialists are available to assist the student. The Department of Architecture is accredited by the National Architectural Accredit- ing Board and endorsed by the American Institute of Architects and is a member of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. The Department of Art is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Design. These accreditations make it possible for the graduate to receive recognition in his selected field. Biggin Hall, built to accommodate architecture, landscape architecture, and art students, will comfortably talce care of 700 students. The building contains drafting and lecture rooms, clay modeling and interior design labs, an exhibit room, an 8000-volume library, and staff offices. The School of Architecture offers opportunities to participate in or be recognized by several professional and honorary organizations: The Art Guild, a scholastic honorary for students in commercial and industrial design, Decor, organization for students in interior decoration, The Landscape Architecture Club, an organization for students in landscape architecture, Phi Mu Alpha, an honorary music club, Scarab, an honorary organization for outstanding students in architecture, and The American Institute of Architects, a technical organization for all students in architecture. 25' Sweet are the uses of advertising TOM CALDWELL President il 1 ll ll w l l t a JIM SHIELDS Vice-President
