'Q On the rolling plm'n.r of Dzbcze Neath the Jun-leiffea' sky 1953 found Auburn arising eagerly and enthusiastically' to meet the dawn of a new day on the Plains. Having passed the perplexing times of inadequate facilities and an overflow postwar enrollment, Auburn greeted a promising future in Southern educa- tion-a future made clear and bright as the college completed its multi-million dollar building program and held its increase in enrollment. Academic stand- ards continued to climb. Auburn had come of age l as a Southern educational institution. The smooth- ly interwoven pattern of honored tradition mingled with bright change was creating a strong and durable institution.
