MARION JACOB I UNCMI-SS DEAN OF AGRICULTURE Marion Jacob Funchess, B.S., M.S., D.Sc., became a member of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute faculty in 1909 after receiving bis Bachelor’s degree at Clemson and bis Master’s at Wisconsin. Dr. Funchess became dean of the School of Agriculture and director of the state’s agricultural experiment stations in 1924. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Gamma Sigma Delta, and Omicron Delta Kappa. JOHN Jl-NKINS WII.MORI- DEAN OF ENGINEERING John Jenkins Wilmore. B.M.E., M.E., LL.D., came to Auburn in 1888 as an instructor in Mechanical Arts. During his career here he has served as chairman of the Governing Board, and has been Dean of the School of Engineering in 1907. Dean Wilmore is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, of the Newcomen Society, and of Tau Beta Pi. I RliOI-KIC Cl III.I) BIGGIN DEAN OF ARCHITECTURE AND ALLIED ARTS Frederic Child Biggin. B.S., M.S., has studied and traveled abroad in Egypt, Palestine. Greece. Italy, France, Switzerland, and England. He came to Auburn in 1916 after taking a Bachelor's degree at Cornell and a Master’s degree at Lehigh. I le became Dean of the School of Architecture and Allied Arts in 1927. I le is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Scarab. I 2.’ I

BOARD OF TRUSTEES • • For their wise leadership, faithful service and progressive actions which have enabled Auburn to enjoy the greatest expansion of its history, the administration, faculty, alumni, and students of the college are grateful to the Board of Trustees. Through the years Auburn has been backed in words anti deeds by the members of the Board. Representing every section of the state, as do the students themselves, the Board brings together the opinions and sound judgments of ten staunch Auburn supporters. The progress of our college can be attributed, to a great extent, to these men whose time and skill have been united in a common cause. The members of the Board have always evidenced the greatest interest in Auburn, and with their capable supervision the college will continue to advance in all fields of endeavor. Fhe Board of Trustees of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, representing the nine districts, headed by his excellency Governor Chauncey Sparks, Hx-oflicio Chairman, is composed of the following: II. kO(iJ:k WII 1.1 AMS AI.I.EN DEAN OF SCIENCE AND LITERATURE Roger Williams Allen, B.S., M.S., M.A., Ph.D., dean of the fastest growing school on the Auburn campus, came to Auburn in 1929. He received his B.S. ami M.S. degrees at Auburn, his M.A. at Michigan, and his Ph.D. at Columbia University. I le came to the dcanship of the School of Science and Literature in 1941 after twelve years on the faculty of the School of Chemistry. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and a faculty member of Delta Sigma Pi. CLIFFORD I I-kOY HARE DEAN OF CHIMISTRY Clifford LeRoy I fare, B.S., M.S., M.A., Dean of the School of Chemistry, became a member of the facility at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute in 1892, and took over the dcanship of his school in 1952. Besides his duties as Dean, he has served as faculty chairman of the Auburn Athletic Association and was president of the Southern Conference for several years. ' EBUl.ON JUDI) DEAN OF EDUCATION Zebulon Judd, Ph.B., A.M., L.H.D., received his degrees from North Carolina, Columbia, and Birmingham-Southern. I le first came to Auburn in 1915. and took over the dcanship of the School of Education in 1920. Dr. Judd has markedly influenced the course of education in Alabama during the years that he has served as Dean and as Director of the Auburn Summer Session, until this year when the separate summer session activities were discontinued.
