MATH Mrs. Sara jo Jackson-Algebra I, Physical Scienceg Mr. Alvin Bigger-Algebra I and II, Geometryg II, Senior Mathg Mrs. Virginia Haggard-General Math, Business Math and Law. The Math Department teaches a Wide Variety of subjects to prepare students for any future. General Math, Business Math and Law are offered in the vocation- al curriculum. These arc useful for students interested in going into business instead of college. Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Senior Math are the col- lege preparatory courses. These are offered in an accelerated program now beginning in grammar school. When this program is finished the students can enter college calculus. This year a Se- nior Math series should take the student beyond calculus. Regular courses prepare students for basic college math. Auburn University has quite an influence on Auburn High School, especially in the emphasis on math. A college course in computers is offered to high school stu- dents With an apptitude for math. One can't be good in his field if he can't express himself clearly with good grammar. Each class has a vocabulary book, a grammar study, four novels, and a literature book. American literature is studied in Ju- nior English and English literature is studied the Senior year. Included in the English Department is an interesting course in speech and drama.
