The purpose of the Future Teachers of America is to prepare and guide high school students toward their chosen career in education. Through informative programs at meetings and service opportunities rel- ated to education, the FTA member is offered a foundation for his continued study in college. Members serve as aids to teachers by grading papers, keeping classes, and working in the library and the office. FTA also sponsors Student Participation Day and the observance of American Education Week, in addition to cooperating with Auburn University in a student visitation program. Tiger Tales, the monthly news- paper of Auburn High School, entertains and informs students with news articles, interesting features, and editorials.
