Bernard Fuller and Shelby Baker carried for the scores. The Tiger's line played very well - Wetumpka gained only 51 yards during the game. AUBURN '7 LAFAYETTE 0 After three scoreless quarters, the Tigers clawed their way to a 4th period touchdown to edge a sur- prisingly strong LaFayette squad '7-0. Bernard Fuller tallied the 6 pointer. '11 ' , ' ' Bernard Fuller scores from AUBURN 38 OPELIKA 14 A determined Auburn team, under-dog by 3 touchdowns, upset the powerful Opelika Bulldogs 38-14, to finish the season with a 5-5 record. Bernard Fuller tossed 3 TD passes to David Ostrom and scored twice himself as he sparked the Tigers to the victory which gave them the Lee County Championship. A Cary Senn to Shelby Baker pass accounted for another touchdown. Auburn's line, anchored by Don Davis, Vandy Copeland, and Tommy Elliott Qwho caught 7 passesj, played their best game of the season. The Tigers could not stop the larger and more powerful Red Devil eleven. A hard rain just before the kickoff made matters worse. The game was Auburn's last home appearance of the season. 'WL W 'V JIM ROSS CHARLES SANDERS Tackle Fullback AUBURN 14 ROANOKE 34 The Tiger's dropped their 3rd game of the season by losing to Handley High of Roanoke 34-14 in a game that was closer than the score indicated. Bernard Fuller passed to Mack Yeargan for the first Auburn TD. Fuller sneaked over from the one yard line to cap the Tiger's scoring. TOMMY ELLIOTT VANDY COPELAND End Center AUBURN 20 DADEVILLE '7 Auburn High won it's second game of the season by downing a stubbom Dadeville eleven 20 -7. Bernard Fuller and Charles Sanders accounted for the Tiger's 3 touchdowns. Fuller scored twice on runs of 9 and 1 yards. Sanders went 18 yards through center for another TD. AUBURN 14 LANETT 27 After leading 14-6 at halftime on touchdowns by Cary Senn and David Ostrom, the Tigers ran out of gas to lose to Lanett 27-14.
