Under the direction of Paul Ramp the band received a one rating at the annual Pershing Marching Contest, an excellent rating at the UNO Marching Contest, and a one rating at District Music contest in the spring. Besides a fall concert and a spring performance, the band also played for the graduation ceremony and for several half-time shows during the football season.

Led by a group of experienced upper classmen, a cast of nineteen presented the Broadway musical comedy Walking Happy . Set in England in 1880 the story involved a shoe shop owner (Jeff Allgood) and his three daughters (Lynne Mcknight. Susan Hall, and Jonelle Warren). When his eldest daughter falls in love with his most talented bootmaker Will (Steve Patras), the father is forced to face drastic changes. Pledging to the town temperance leader (Mike Root) that he will quit drinking, the father stops meeting with his fellow merchant friends (Scott Black. Earl Shaw. Ken Toman). Will goes to his friend and fellow bootmaker (Chris Pippert) for advice. In the final scene the father is tricked into allowing his two youngest to marry Benstock's sons (Eric Armstrong and Bryan Kistner). Cast members were: Jeff Allgood. Mike Root. Dean Huber. Ken Toman.
