The band was awarded a rating of “good” at the 1934 M-I-N-K contest at Peru. The following ratings were awarded members of the band who played instrumental solos at the M-I-N-K contest: Bert Smith—French Horn.......................Good Delbert Smith—Flute .........................Good Dale Falk—Saxophone ....................Superior. Robert Blankenship—Clarinet .............Superior Etta Neunaber—Baritone Horn ............Excellent Dale Falk entered the District Music Contest at Omaha in April, and was awarded a rating of “excellent.” Page Tiventy-eight

FULLER—Director The high school orchestra, under the able direction of Mr. Fuller, is one of the major musical organizations of the school. During the school year, it has provided music for many of the school activities. At the annual M-I-N-K contest at Peru the orchestra was awarded a rating of “excellent.” The following ratings were awarded members of the orchestra who played instrumental solos at the contest: Jean Humphrey—Piano .......................Excellent Etta Neunaber—Violin ...........................Good Matthew Wiencke—Viola ......................Superior Marian Johnson—Cello .......................Superior Marian Johnson was rated “superior” on her cello solo; Matthew Wiencke was rated “excellent” on his viola solo at the District Contest at Omaha. A string quartet, made up of Etta Neunaber., first violin, John Fisher, second violin, Marian Johnson, cello, and Matthew Wiencke, viola, was awarded a rating of “good” at the M-I-N-K contest at Peru.
