FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA ACTIVITIES The Year 1958-59 has seen many activities undertaken by the members of the Au- burn Chapter of Future Farmers of America. Under the superior guidance of Mr- Vance Venn, Auburn FFA adviser, the boys have taken a strong part in every fair, show, and contest presented in this area. , Last August the 'Auburn Chapter had several entries in the King County'Junior Fair at Enumclaw. A good many individual ribbons were won by members, and the chapter walked away with Herdsmanship trophy. Auburn was well represented at the big Western Washington Fair last September. The main entries were in the dairy department where the boys won several ribbons in both' Type and Showmanshipp Auburn also entered a judging team. The local chapter entered a team in the Parliamentary Procedure contest, the crops contests, the Co-op Quiz, several judging contests, and Jim Myrick entered the Public Speak- ing Contest. The biggest event of the year for the boys of the Auburn Chapter is the North- west Junior Livestock Show. They had many entries in both the steer and hog classes. Auburn's applicants for State Farmer Degree were LeRoy Johnson, and Bob Hocking. Also Jim.Myrick and Bob Hocking went to the National FFA Convention in Kansas City. Mis souri, last fall. Only a few of the FFA activities have been mentioned here. The accomplishments are too numerous to mention. The Auburn Chapter of Future Farmers of America is truly an organization of which the school and community can be proud. 0 THIS PAGE IS SPONSORED BY DOXON AND SONS Mncsoss-mu oisrmuton nv c sneer soumnsr - Auaum, WASHINGTON - TE a-4555 I5 will-. fi-'.....7
