In this Tattletale we have striven to include every individual, every activity, and every school function possible. It is our sincere wish that you will in the future look back upon this Tattletale and recall many pleasurable high school experiences. This year ' s Tattletale thenne is trees. We chose this theme because it so aptly expresses the phases of our high school career. Just as a tiny acorn grows into a mighty oak, so have we grown from fresh- men to seniors— graduating to journey the many roads of life. Our lives have been enriched not only with the education received here, but also with the many friend- ships which will grow with the passing years. Education forms the common mind . . . just as the twig is bent the tree is inclined. Jitrs. Cive ( n y. J TcDofia d TATTLETALE STAFF FOR CLASS OF 1955 CO-EDITORS-Linda Stone, Lillian Quintin. To begin our career of high schooling, we had the distinction of being the last freshman class in the city. Our first big job was to elect our class officers. This we did amid great campaigning. The following emerged victorious: Jim Willard, President; Lolly Quintin, Vice President; Norma Sears, Secretary; and Marlene Bussiere, Treasurer. Next came the important task of electing representatives to Student Council. They were Russell Richardson, Carolyn Tingle, Eleanor Buchanan, Carla Rae Jordan, Richard Gawlick, and Kenneth Fisher. Bernie Barrett, Merle Collins, Roger Hager, Rollie Kerkhoff, Russ Richardson, Mike La Croix, Bruce Rigby, Joe McKenna, Jack Tannock, Frank Zarek, Ray Wright, Dick Gawlick, Larry O ' Connell, Don Clegg, Mike Quaglia, Ron Salley, Don Sinclair, Oscar Beach, Joe Krawiec, Bowen Diertele, Ray Dion, Bob Deschaneau, Howie Tozier, Phil Boyd, Carl Frova, Paul St. Germain, Bob MacKinley, and Jim King gave their time and efforts to help make our teams the great success they were. Carolyn Tingle became a big credit to our class by being chosen as a majorette. The Girls ' basketball team was aided by the work of Lolly Quintin, Carla Jordan, Kendra Pitman, Roberta Nerney, Kathy Sprigg, and Carolyn Tingle. Our class dance, Sands of Waikiki, was a great success due to the work of the officer and the dance committee consisted of Linda Stone, Kathleen Spriggs, Robert Nerney, Rita Kriegal, Richard Gawlick, Barbara Demers, Mrs. Gerlach, and Miss Pierce. And so we left our Freshman days looking forward to another year of fun and learning when we would be one step closer to being upperclassmen. SopJio nore Jrfisiory We will never be Freshmen again that ' s what we said when our sophomore year finally came. We all got busy and elected as our class officers: President, Russ Richardson; Vice President, Linda Stone; Secretary, Gerry Cooper; and Treasurer, Bob Johnson. F ootball season arrived and our sophomore class was well represented by Rollie Kerkhoff, Ronnie Salley, Don Sinclair, Bruce Rigby, Phil Boyd, and Bernie Barrett. We also had Carla Jordan on the cheerleaders squad well representing us. Soon the armory was ringing v ith the cheers and groans of the many basketball fans. Our basketgetters of the year were, Dick Gawlick, Dick Pariseau, Howie Tozier, Mike La Croix, Bowen Dieterle, Ray Wright, Oscar Beach, Bernie Barrett, Bruce Weir, Joe Devaney, Jim King, and Bobby Dechesneau. The girls ' basketball team had an excellent season with Carolyn Tingle, Roberta Nerney, Kathy Spriggs, Evelyn Costa, Gerry Cooper, Kendra Pitman and Lolly Quintin doing some fancy foot work on the floor. Spring Fever was our social of the year, headed by a wonderful committee which included Pauline Butler, Lois Entwistle, Shirley Gifford, Pat Heussler, Joe McKenna, Roberta Nerney, Norma Sears, Marianne Stachurski, Russ Richardson, Linda Stone, Gerry Cooper, Bob Johnson, and Oscar Beach, it was a wonderful dance and very much enjoyed by everyone. We were well represented in Student Council by Gerry Cooper, Maggie Galligan, June Fine, Jim King and Russ Richardson. Time came for choosing new cheerleaders and Pat Gavin, Gerry Cooper and Sue Worrall won the honor for our class. Our sophomore year came to a quick end and with it we left behind our happiness and sorrows looking forward to being upperclassmen at last. jfunior 3 fisior( Success at last! We ' re finally considered upperclassmen who are looking forward to a very prosperous Junior Year. After the vigorous campaigning for class officers, these people took the responsibility: Dick Gawlick, President; Bernie Barrett, Vice President; Gerry Cooper, Secretary; Kendra Pitman, Treasurer. Serving as our Junior cheerleaders were Pat Gavin, Gerry Cooper, Carla Jordan, and Sue Worrall. The girls did a wonderful job representing our Junior class. At the end of the school season, Gerry was elected head cheerleader for the following year. Compliments go out to our ring committee. The class officers: Lee Baker, Carl Frova, Ellen Liscomb, Lolly Quintin, Linda Stone, and Oscar Beach, who made an excellent choice in selecting our class rings. Events rolled by so rapidly that we soon realized it was time for our social. The dance committee finally decided on an appropriate title, June in January. Everyone had a marvelous evening dancing to the music of Nicky Peters and his orchestra. It proved to be both a social and a financial success. The Student Council did a wonderful job in everything they attempted this year. Representing the class of 55 on the council were Gerry Cooper, Margaret Galligan, Mike LaCroix, Eddie Nelson, Linda Stone. At the end of the football season the Student Council sponsored a Victory Dance. Our own Ellen Liscomb was chosen queen. Battling their way to a touchdown on the football field were these able boys from the Junior Class. Carl Frova, Bowen Dieterle, Phil Boyd, Ronnie Boivin, Russ Richardson, Karl Salathe, Don Clegg, Howie Tozier, Mike Quaglia, Dick Pariseau, Bob Garlick, Bruce Rigby, Joe McKenna, Frank Zarek, Bernie Barrett, Oscar Beach, Don Sinclair and Rollie Kerkhoff. The fellows all turned in a record to be proud of. Adding fo the glory of the class of 55 on the diamond were Joe McDougal, Dick Gawlick, Howie Tozier, Carl Frova, Paul St. Germain, and Mike Quaglia. The old Armory was the scene of many victories for the Attleboro team, which worked hard and came up with such stars as Dick Gawlick, Bowen Dieterele, Jack Tannock, Don Sinclair, Bruce Rigby, Lee Baker, Dick Pariseau, Russell Remiers, and Bob MacKinley. Turning in a fine record were both the girls basketball and baseball teams. Playing under the basketball spotlight were Roberta Nerney, Evelyn Costa, Sandra Smith, Kathleen Sprigg, Kendra Pitman and Lolly Quintin. The Softball team was undefeated this year. Contributing to its glory were Marilyn O ' Connor, Marianne Stachurski, Sandra Smith, Yvonne Rapoza, Evie Costa, and Nancy Heap. Batons whirled while down the field came the majorettes. Among those from the class of 55 were Carolyn Tingle, Fran Tetreault, and Lolly Quintin. Carolyn was chosen head majorette for the following year. Linda Stone was the representative sent from Attleboro High School to attend Girls ' State, while Russ Richardson, Dick Gawlick, Carl Frova, and Ernie Jost went fo Boys ' State. The Junior girls initiated into Try-Y were Linda Stone, Roberta Nerney, Dotty Keane, Carolyn Tingle, Margaret Gilligan, Barb Demers, Gerry Cooper, Kendra Pitman, Sue Worrall, Pat Gavin, June Fine, Joan Fine, Ellen Silvia. One of the most beautiful and touching spectacles of the year was the induction of Roberta Nerney, Linda Stone, Carl Frova, and Robert Johnson into the National Honor Society, The class is very proud of them and wishes them much success. Our Junior year was over altogether too soon, but now we had something to look foreward to, our Senior year. We were determined fo fry as hard as we could fo uphold the excellent records left by the Senior classes preceding us. Seniors af last! Those words excited some, made others feel sad, but everyone was looking forward to this last year fo try fo make if the best yet. To help make this senior year our best, we wisely chose these people as our class officers: Bernie Barrett, President; Bob Johnson, Vice President; Gerry Cooper, Secretary; and Kendra Pitman, Treasurer. The first dance of the year The Cheerleaders Dance was well attended and a financial success. In football, the seniors were well represented by Bernie Barrett, Ronnie Boiven, Phil Boyd, Carl Frova, Rollie Kerkoff, Mike LaCroix, Joe McKenna, Dick Pariseau, Russell Richardson, Bruce Rigby, Ronald Salley, Don Sinclair, Howie Tozier, and Frank Zarek. Leading these boys this year was a new coach. Red Madden. And to cheer the team on there was Barbara Demers, Patty Gavin, Caria Jordon, Roberta Nerney, with Gerry Cooper as head cheerleader. We had a fine group of Majorettes to accompany the band, the seniors among them being Lolly Quintin and Fran Tetreault; as head majorette was Carolyn Tingle. Newly inducted from the class of 55 fo Tri-Y this year was Marlene Bussiere, Kayda Campbell, Shirley Gifford, Joan Kinny, Patty Lincoln, Lolly Quintin, Norma Sears, Sandy Smith, Marianne Stachurski, Theresa Walsh, and Joanne Wilmarfh. The girls who had been taken into this group in their Junior year were Joan and June Fine, Paffy Gavin, Margaret Galligan, Roberta Nerney, Kendra Pitman, Ellen Silva, and Linda Stone. To represent the class of ' 55 in Student Council, our senior home rooms wisely chose as their representatives, June Fine, Gerry Cooper, Bob MacKinley, Dick Gawlik, Marianne Stachurski, Russ Richardson, Barbara La Fontaine, Eddie Nelson, Barbara Demers, Jimmie Newfon, Richard Pariseau, Bernie Barrett, Margaret Galligan, Dotty Keane. The Senior Play, We Shook The Family Tree, was a huge success and Mr. Willey acted as facuify advisor with Joanne Wilmarfh, as student direcfor.
