There are five classes in be- ginner's typing and one ad- vanced typing class. The stu- dents in the beginner's course are taught the basic techniques for operating the typewriter, the improvement of typing skill, problem typing, typing for personal use, the business letter, tabu- lations, and manuscript typ- ing. The advanced typing class's work consists of how to improve typing power, problems in office proce- dure, office forms, making duplicate copies, the use of mimeograph, production work, and legal typing. 22 Typing Class A The Atkins High School chapter of the Future Busi- ness Leaders of America was granted its charter on Jan- uary l6, 1957 by the United Business Education Associa- tion. The charter number is 1510. The purpose of the organization is to get each member to prepare himself for a useful occupation, to be actively interested in bet- ter social, political, commu- nity, and family life, and to carry out assigned tasks in a manner that will reflect credit to himself, his asso- ciates, his school, and his community.
