Oh why were we prophets? We wanted to refrain from saying the things that we know and see. but smce we are prophets we must tell everything that we see 1n our crystal ball As we gaze into our crystal ball the future is as plain as day We see moving in all directions, famihar faces They are happy faces We ve seen these faces somewhere but we can t recall the place. Now we remember' They were once our classmates back in the years 1949 50 at our dear Alma Mater, Atkins High School My how they ve changed Th y are much much better looking They are some of the best citizens of the world and all are successful Are our ey es deceiving us? No they aren t for it's all seen here in our crystal ball These young peope have finally reached their goal that of success. Looking into our crystal ball We see these young people engaged in many drfferent professions We see Lawton Kelly Samuel Tucker Ervin Williams and Charles Glenn singing at Carnegie Hall They are some of the world s greatest baritone singers We behold some chemists in some of the lar est colleges in America We look very very hard and we recognize the faces of the well known chemists oe Thompson r James Anderson and Nathan Simms ls our crystal ball playing tricks on us? Can It bt true that Nathaniel Wiseman has taken over the place of Mr J A Carter our high school principal? Is it possible that Eleanor King has taken over Miss E M Stlth s place as history teacher? Bynum. Doctors are on the job too. They are Gerald Cardwell, Odell Broome, Francis Simms, Middie Glymph, Ernest Riley, and Edward Hunter. Nurses who are to assist them are Maggie Cunningham, Dorothy Kirby, Geraldine Lucas, Lucille Moore, Annette Head, Edith Campbell, Lula Graham, Willie Mae Robinson, Willie Lou Brooks, Bertha Thompson, Annie Mae johnson, Mary Caldwell, and Frances Moore. Hark! We hear the clicking of typewriters. We can see Aurelia Carter, Delores Edwards, Arlethia Harris, Dorothy Caldwell, Nancy Caldwell, Hazel Coppedge, Lucy Summers, Mary Arnold, Mary Nel- son, Bennie Martin, and Evelyn Howie as stenographers working in big business firms in New York City under the auspices of Charles Clumblin, Roosevelt Crowder, Charlie Hazel, and Marion Frazier, who also have photo shops, and what have you. The Senior Class of 1956 are wearing styles designed by the famous beauticians-Minnie Harris, Dorothy Wallace, Elmeta Dubose, Viola Holmes, Ethelyne Wilkes, Katherine Bradley, Hazel Gwyn, and Dorothy Grimes. Theodore Massey, Gertie Mack, Lillie Jackson, Waddell Fair, Naomi Williams, Rosella Morrison, Walter Murray, and Lucius Porter are physical ed. instructors in leading universities. Marshall Hairston is a well known band leader. Lois Ann Haley. Doris Cockeram, and Royal Abbitt are concert pianists. Hazel Rhynes and Lillie Hines are metso- Sopranos. The crystal ball changes again. We see lots of money in the crystal ball. To whom does all this money belong? We see millions and millions of dollars. Now we see the faces of the multi-millionaires to whom this money belong. They are Milton Speight, Ernest Williams, Richard Scales, Luther Dye, Payton Hairston, John Caldwell, McRay Roberts, Abner Gooden, and james Davis. Ulysses Davis, La- fayette johnson, Albert Samuels, Deloris Solomon, Mildred Thornton, Verdell Epps, Howard Lawrence. Alva Ingram are famous as artists. Jarvis Webster, Thomas Jeffries, james Steen, Robert Blackman, Boston Belton, and Bright Benton are great educators. Geraldine Butler, Helen West, Dorothy In- gram, Thelma Davis, Louise Crawford, Elvin Davis, Ethel Upson, and Elizabeth Bratton are dieticians. Wfalter Slfip is a great physicist at North Carolina State College. Doris Barber is modeling in Paris. Alvin jackson, john Thompkins, James Thomas and james Ross are ministers. Their congregation is composed of the missionaries--Ruth Wilson, Anne Roseboro, Louise Crawford, and Alice Roseboro. Price Freeman is a dentist in the Twin City. Our great dancers are Sidney Simms, Bobby Lee Perry, Olemial Cox. john Bruce, Allen Holmes, Alexander Thompson, Nathaniel Tucker, Benjamin Roseboro, Emmanuel XVilliams, James Wilson, Harold Winford, and Harold NVofTord are professional painters and electricians. The crystal ball has grown completely dark. This only means one thing-the prophecy has ended. All has been revealed.
