FRANCIS E. LAW Executive ffieer LCDR LAW reported on board 19 July 1953 and had to fly North to catch the ATKA and has made two other trips North. His sea duty has taken him aboard Survey Ships, Battleships, Cruisers, and various auxiliaries. He was born in Norwood, Mass. and was commissioned as LT on 1 June 1942 but began his Naval Service Kas enlistedj on 22 September 1932. Commander GLEN IACCBSEN Commanding llfficer CDR J ACOBSEN reported on board 28 June 1954 from duty on the staff of Chief of Naval Operations and has made one trip North with the ATKA. Early in his career he served on Destroyers but the most of his duty has been aboard Sub- marines. He hails from Seattle, Washington, and was commissioned on 20 May 1939 and began his active Naval Service in July 1940.

Final Muster before a four and one-half months cruise which was to take the USS ATKA Through the Panama Canal, Across the Equator and 180th Meridian, To New Zealand, Across the Antarctic Circle and Half-way around Antarctica, back To Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, then Back home to Boston.
