112-varsity Basketball Synchronized basketball? The Greyhounds came out running. They started the season at the begin- ning of the school year by running three to four miles a day. Running and gunning they slashed through the Taft invitational bringing home a first place trophy. Coming around again. the Hounds beat a previously undefeated Arroyo Grande team, this capturing an early season 7-O record. This years team featured a Tough full-court pressing zone defense, which converted to a man to man when the offensive team crossed the center line. The team lost some super talent for the beginning of the season when brothers Keith and Steve Schmidt were injured. The most improved play- ers this year were Roger Bland and Bill Rainwater. Next year there will be four returning Varsity Lettermen. and the team will hopefully be traveling to Ha- waii. Price chalks one up. Hey! Aren't you going to help me up? U 27 if

Coach Jim Greenman did a tremendous job this year with the J.V. Basketball team. They showed a great amount of talent and played their hardest. This team will develop into a Spectacular varsity team next year, as they'll join the others with high hopes and continue playing with zest and hussle. Coach Jim Greenman quoted, Chet Smith and Darrel Tuggle were doing an excellent job, also Dane Austin was doing a superb job on the boards. He said Willie Brown is the most im- proveing player since the beginning of the season. Up the middle for two by Bill Martin.
