I Music The Music De artmenl' has made a splendid showing this year under the direction of Mr. Wiliiam Baker. The Band's 'first appearance was in Paso Robles for Pioneer Day, October IZ. It received a trophy, a bronze horse. The Band and Pep Band attended two outdoor concerts. The first was held at Paso Robles on May 9 and the next was al' Santa Barbara on May I6. The Pep Bancl was organized during the football season and is composed of the regular band members who do not take parl' in sports. ll' has about fifteen members. The group played over KPRL for Public Schools Week and at all the basketball games. The Girls' Glee Club was rather a large group, consisting of about 37 girls. The club participated in the Fall Frolics of '46 and the Vocal Festival, which consisted of over 400 students from six different schools. The Boys' Glee Club, which was organized this year for the 'First time since l927, consisted of approximately 20 boys. They practiced Tuesdays and Thurs- days during 4th period. Some of the songs they sang are My Blue Heaven, Whispering, Over the Rainbow, Swing Low, Sweel' Chariot, and Strolling Through the Park. The boys participated in the Fall Frolics of '46' and the Spring Festival, as well as several of the school assemblies. Soloists have been David Baro, Henry Valencia, and Richard Pearson.
