Gills, their sponsor, they have succeeded in enlarging their activities to capacity, so that maximum service to their country may be rendered. Boys have been using a large part of their school time for vital work rather than classroom work. ln one of the pictures above can be seen a boy at work on the F.F.A.,s John Deere tractor. This particular picture was taken at the strawberry patch, where the boys have been spending a great deal of time lately. Other pictures show boys working with a few of the many boxes of young plants which they bave been raising this year. This has really been a great help to the war effort, due to the shortage of laborers. These small plants are raised in boxes inside the Agriculture Building and then are transplanted in the fields or gardens. Actual farming isn't all that our F.F.A. boys are doing, however. They are also working in the school's shop, learning to give good care tothe hard-to-get farm implements, and also learning to repair them should they happen to break. Due to the shortage of implements, this is indeed a wonderful thing to know. Financially speaking, the F.F.A. is over the top. So well have they done this year, they have been authorized by the school board to purchase themselves a tractor, harvester, and bailer. These purchases will probably be delayed, due to the war, but they have been authorized.
