Front Row: Dorothy Cup- pers, Nlarjoriv Hvml0i'R0n The first meeting of the G.A.A. was Thursday, October 7th, 1942, with Rita Villa acting as president. The officers for the first half were: Erma Jean Frame, presidentg Janice Mc- Donald, vice presidentg Chesterlyn Kilbern, secretary, and Yvonne Roberson, recorder. For the second semester the same council was re-elected except that the position of secretary was given to Betty Southwiclc. The council decided that the interclass games would be changed to period games: each period's winning team would play the next period until the champions were found. The first sport of the season that was played was basketball. The 6th period really came through by beating both 4th and Sth period teams all the way through. The last game? score was 12 to 6. To prove to everyone that they were truly champions, the 6th period challenged the Ladies' Town Team in two games and were really victorious with the scores read- ing 12 to 4 and I6 to 6. After the excitement of the basketball games the girls took up volleyball with just :Ls much vigor. The Sth period team showed their ability at playing volleyball by com- ing out on top behind their captain, Helen Jaster. The last sport to be taken up was baseball which had not been completed at the time of this writing. But the -lth period team has proved very good. so they're entitled to their pictures in this annual. All the girls are looking forward to a play-day which will be held in the near future under the direction of Miss Doser, G.A.A. instructor. There were many girls who were awarded letters and three won sweaters or pins. The girls having 800 points received large orange A's and the girls with 1,000 points had their choice of sweaters or pins. It-CSF I -ts Girls' League Meeting Gerry Camenon G.L.
