MRS. EDITH ESTES 5 UPERINTENDENT A question often comes to my mind when schools are mentioned--What is the first aim of education? My answer to this w'ould be MANHOOD. To this end, may the bless- ing of God be upon everyone w'hose influence will be felt. May the superintendent, principal, teachers, parents, and pupils receive this blessing and become a worthy man or woman. Sincerely, Mrs. W . M. Young County Superintendent of Education 4 PRINCIPAL The true purpose of education is to cherish and enfold the seed of immortality already sown within us; to develop, to their fullest extent, the capacities of every kind with which God who made us has endowed us. For the students at Ashland High School, the end of another school year is rapidly approaching. This year has been one of excitement, happiness, and for most scholastic betterment, but most of all it has been one of success. My congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Jones, the staff and to the student body on this fine production that has recorded activities of 1968-69. Gratefully yours, Jamie W. Howell, Principal Ashland Attendance Center 5 BOARD OF EDUCATION Ere long, the 1968-69 school term will have become history. The wheels of time keep turning and, seemingly, they are turning faster than ever before as if they were trying to leave behind the unpleasantries of the past and anxious to reach an era of peace and tranquility. We, The Benton County Board of Education, ask for, and will appreciate the con- tinued cooperation of the parents, teachers and the student body; let us join time in its flight always reaching out for anything, honorable, that will retain, and even elevate to higher plateaus, the standards of quality our school system has enjoyed through the years.
