THE 1968 YEARLING INVITES YOU TO RECAPTURE THE MEMORIES OF YOUR YEARS AT ASHLAND HIGH SCHOOL ASHLAND, MISSISSIPPI DEDICATION MR. JONES With admiration and love, we, the Annual Staff, dedi- cate the 1968 Yearling to our friend, counselor, and teacher, Mr. Charles Jones. ADMINISTRATION COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT Another year of your school life is drawing to a close. To some of you this means credits gained, views broadened, and efforts rewarded; to others it may mean time lost, energies dissipated, and duties unaccomplished. You have recorded these major happenings in this little book. Each of you--graduate or undergraduate--has helped to make the record what it is. In the future it will become a reminder to you of much that otherwise you would forget. I can only wish for you that all your joys may become fuller, your successes greater, and that your failures may become stepping stones on which you will rise into worthy manhood and womanhood. Sincerely yours, JTUt- 10. 07). Mrs. W. M. Young County Superintendent of Education 4 PRINCIPAL The 1967-68 school year has been perhaps the finest in the history of Ashland High School, according to all measures available to us. The enrollment has been at an all time high; the quality of the students' work has constantly improved; the teaching staff has been superior. We accept these facts as a challenge, however, for the demands of the future are even more pressing than those of today. I feel that we are privileged to live in the greatest era of all time. To be part of the amazing changes that are taking place today gives students the opportunity to mold and direct the destinies of men. May I commend each student, Mrs. Farese, and the Annual Staff for their con- tribution to Ashland High this year. It is my desire that each student's aim is to pre- pare himself to meet the tremendous challenge of the future. Sincerely yours Jamie W. Howell, Principal Ashland Attendance Center 5 BENTON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD FRONT ROW: Mr. Eugene West, Mr. Elond Autry, Mr. Harry Rogers. SECOND ROW: Mr. Gatha Liming, Mr. Robert Jordan. 6 MRS.
