THE 1965 YEARLING EXPLORES OUR UNIVERSE AT ASHLAND HIGH SCHOOL ASHLAND, MISSISSIPPI MR. EATON With heartfelt love and admiration, we the Annual Staff of Ashland High School dedicate the 1965 edition of The Yearling to Mr. J.L. Eaton. For his eight years of service to our school and his devotion to the teaching profes- sion, we dedicate with loving esteem this yearbook. 2 ADMINISTRATION COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT The 1964-65 school session has been an enjoyable and most profitable one. There has been a very pleasant association with faculty members and students. Because your educational growth is a continuous process through life, it will never be com- pletely finished. If a school is to progress toward its educational aims and objectives each teacher must be conscious of the fact that the school needs his or her entire support and in- fluence. I hope you will continue to take an active part in boosting your school through- out the years. No nation is greater than its teachers, parents, students and school system. I believe that, to a certain degree, a nation's integrity is measured by the products the schools turn out. Abraham Lincoln once said, I will study and get ready and one day my chance will come.” May I leave this thought with you as we go our way and may you ever strive to be ready to take advantage of your chance when it comes your way. Sincerely, J.D. Bennett County Superintendent of Education T 4 PRINCIPAL I appreciate very much the outstanding job done by the annual staff and sponsor in compiling the 1964-65 Yearling . In my opinion, this experience will be beneficial to you, and I assure you that your efforts and accomplishments will long be remembered by the students, faculty, and myself. It is our desire that the training you, the entire student body, receive in this in- stitution will better fit you to contribute something worthwhile to society in years to come. May we all take advantage of the wonderful opportunities in this great land in which we are privileged to live. Sincerely, W.B. Bryant Principal BENTON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD FRONT ROW: Mr. Robert Jordan Mr. Earl Hines Mr. Elond Autry Mr. Ellis Bradford BACK ROW: Mr. Arthur Orman Mr. Bill Crawford Mr. Harry Rogers The planet Saturn and its famous ring system as seen through the 100 inch Mt Wilson telescope. —Mt Wilson and Palomar Observatories MRS.
