The shorthand classes are constantly working toward a new goal in speed writing. This year tnany awards were presented to girls who 9 showed outstanding ability on speed and accuracy short- hand tests given by the Order ol Gregg .Xl'lisls. ln the ollice training roont there are mans machines 'rake A to be mastered bx future secretaries. Machines such as electric typewriters. adding machines. and duplicating machines are kept in line condition so that they may be worked elliciently and with the best speed and ac- curacy. Filing and bookkeeping are tnastered by stu- dents who use practice sets. 'I'hese practice sets are exact copies ol all actual liles and dillerent bookkeep- ing ledgers and journals. By using duplicates. students are able to experience the actual problems they may have in an olliice. Better qualified secretaries are being tttrned out by using these modern tnethods ol' teaching.
