Driver Education Driver Education is required as a phase of general education which meets a pressing social need. lt is only natural that high school youth be prepared to drive safely in a society which depends on the motor vehicle so extensively. Physical Education The Physical Education Department this term has tried to make different activities available at the same time. Instead of limiting ourselves to the seasonal sports, we want our classes to have the opportunity to choose from several activities. In the fall some classes are playing basketball or football, using the weight room, wrestling, or playing volleyball. The Universal Weight Machine has been very popular with a lot of the physical education students and is being used frequently. Other activities made available during the year include table tennis, horseshoes, pole vaulting, high jumping, paraIlel'bars, and the side horse. Library Science The primary objective of the Ashbrook IMC is to implement, enrich and support the educational program of the school. lt is the duty of the center to provide a wide range of material on all levels of difficulty, with diversity of appeal, and the presentation of different points of view. ln other words, we are an information center with services as our main function. Everyone is an individual and we try to deal with each person on that level, whatever his immediate need may be.
