The cast, consisting of 28 people, had to work closely in order to accomplish anything. The story is about a new English teacher in a run-of-the-mill school. The situation of proper proceedures not letting Sylvia Barrett do her way of teaching is funny. It is the kind of funny that hurts. Opening night, March 26, found the cast nervous and excited. For most of the cast, this was their first ex- perience in front of the curtain. The production was under the di- rection of Mr. Larry Havens with the help of Mr. Olimoto, the stu- dent teacher. I've had just...11 shouts Sylvia to Joe Ferone, a problem student.

Long preparation worth It took her eight months to get here but Ghislaine Gros finds her stay in the United States in- teresting, educational, and fun. Native to France, Ghis- laine has come to Arvada West as this year's foreign exchange student. In France, school is just for learning, she eagerly ex- plained, but here it is fan- cier. Extra-curricular activi- ties are new to her, as are home - coming, and couples holding hands in the hall. Sporting of peace symbols offered surprise to Ghislaine also. I had never seen these peace badges in France, she commented. The French newspapers, radio, and some of her teachers gave Miss Gros the information that led to action. Last June prepa- rations to come to the U. S. were already being made. Her time was being spent graduating from her own school, taking tests, writing to Paris, having physical exams, and saying good-bye to her friends. Ghislaine had to be accepted by both Paris and New York associations before she could become part of the foreign exchange program. Home to the AFS student is an Alpine village in Southeastern France called Saint Michael de Maureinne. Colorado is much like Ghislaine's France, but she thinks spruce trees are a beauti- ful difference between the two. This bright, charming girl ad- mitted that she was a bit lost at first. She was glad that the AW Wildcats were so helpful and friendly. Arvada West and A- merica are both to our guest's liking, yet Ghilsaine Gros would never make her home anywhere but France.
