Even Ann Landers couldn't remedy this situation. I heard a thousand blended notes—somewhere. I am the greatest, exclaims Brack, but apparently those aren't Jenny’s sentiments. What a revolting development this is!

Melodies heard are sweet but those unheard arc sweeter. Something’s coming from down in the valley. Let's try it again, this time with the right notes. The song of the melancholy makes us shed some heart-felt tears. Annually the music and art departments combine their talent and skills in presenting an opera. Last year’s production was entitled A Concert of American Folk Music and “Down In The Valley (an American folk opera) by Kurt Weill. In the opera story sweet Jenny Parsons was forbidden to attend the Shadow Creek dance with Brack Weaver because her father wanted her to go with wealthy Mr. Thomas Bcuche. Jenny defied her father. At the dance, in a fight started by Bouche over Jenny, Bouche pulled a knife and was killed by Brack. Brack was taken to jail from which he later escaped. He went to see Jenny and in a vision they re-lived their moments together. But Brack wasn't the only one with problems. Mr. Pickett and Mr. Pesile had a few too. Cast, chorus, and opera orchestra had to be chosen; costumes had to be designed and scenery constructed. Miss Howard and Mr. Knobler solved the latter two problems. Despite the hard work and long hours of rehearsal everyone felt the effort was extremely worthwhile.
