It is not possible to express fully our feelings about Mr. Gannon who recently passed away after giving thirty-one years of his life to teaching. He handled his classes with skill, firmness, and a touch of humor. Throughout the years Mr. Gannon taught us the values of being punctual and considerate of others. Our Mr. Gannon created nothing but respect and love. When we needed help, he gave it freely and warmly; when we needed prodding he gave if firmly but gently. Mr. Gannon was more than a teacher to us, he was a wonderful friend. THOMAS D GANNON. BA. M.A. Induttrill Art Thomat Dean Gannon of 160 Mountainview Av nu«, Nutley, died tuddenly of a heart attack on February 6, 1961, io Clare Mini Memorial Hotpitel. He wat 51. He wat graduated from Central High School, where he wat a vanity quarterback. He received hit bachelor' degree from Rutger Univertity and hi matter degree from Seton Hall Univertity. He wat a Navy veteran of World War II. Before coming to Art High School at an induttrial art teacher, Mr. Gannon taught at State Street School, Eighteenth Avenue School, McKinley School, Central High School, and McKinley Junior High School. One can underttand why we at Art feel to fortunate to have had hit tagacioul initructiont. During hi teaching curriculum, he wat an attiitant football coach and alto had officiated at high tchool game throughout the ttafe and for game of the former American Football league. He wat a member of the New Jertey Football Official Auooation and of the Newark Teacher Union.
