CLASS HISTORY In the year of 1938, we came to Arthur School as little strangers This was the real beginning of our education. Miss Ebberson was our first teacher and she taught us the way to behave and how to get a- long with our fellow students. Miss Allen, Miss Parker, and Miss Thomason were our next teachers. They were very helpful in guiding us to reach our goals. When we were in the fifth grade we learned that we must get all of our homework in. Miss Woodward was our teacher and she really knew how to handle a yard-stick. Some one was whipped most everyday. Miss Pace, Miss White, Mrs. Fry, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Forrest, Mrs. Hollowell, and Miss Humbles had the pleasure of teaching us in our last years of grammar school, and decided wheather or not we were capable of entering high school. As Freshmen, we learned the way to study, and we had plenty of (Studying to do. In the 9th grade we had the hardest courses in high Ischool. Mr. Cashwell, Mrs. Hendrix, and Mrs. McArthur were our advis- ors. We had a hard time that year with Mr. World History, Mrs. Bl- blegy, and Master Algebra. Our Sophomore year was not so dull, because Bobby Bennett joined our class. Mrs. Hendrix and Mr. Cashwell came back for another year Iwith us. Mrs. Pendleton left the eighth grade and came into high school to teach us French and English. Our Junior year we had only fourteen classmates. We had all kinds Df fun making money for our Junior-Senior Banquet. Our class present- sd a " Negro Womanless Wedding. " We were overwhelmed with compliments Df the play. Mr. Bailey, Mr. Tew and Mrs. Tucker Joined us this year land we really enjoyed typing under Mr. Tew and U.S. History under Mr. (Bailey. Some of us Juniors took part in the senior play which was a ithrilling success, thanks to the assistance of Mrs. Tucker. i Oboy J The year that we thought would never come is here. Yes. Seniors at last J This year was full ©f fun and excitement. Mr. Bailey vas back with us again and we love every inch of him. With their cindness and patience; Mr. Zeh, Mrs. Woods, and Mrs. Tew have also lelped us to complete this, our last year. We had much fun asking for ids to put in our yearbook, because it is bigger and better than be- fore. This year, we have only eleven classmates, and we were always ' eady to help with any little thing that Mr. Bailey asked us to do. )ur Senior Play was every thing that we expected it to be. Now, as Seniors, when we think back over our twelve years Journey m the road to graduation, we begin to realize that soon it will be !»ver to remain Just a memory - a memory which will live on, as a burning ember.
