Thanks to the educated toe oi Junie Russell the Artesia Bulldogs won over the Carlsbad Cavemen for the first time since 1936 with a score of 7-6. In the first half Juan Mendez made the Cavemen's only touch down and Porky Leyva tried to toe the extra point, but failed as the ball went wide, which made the game a rough and exciting one for the rest of the half. After the half the Bulldogs came out ready to go. Ronald Dublin took over the Pigskin for a touch down and through the work of Junie Russell the Bulldogs con verted the extra point to make hte score a tglose 76. During e fourth quarter the Bulldogs came within six yards of making another touchdown, but the Cavemen held them back. The game ended 76 in the Bulldogs favor. B Artesia fans, some 2000 of them sat in the stands backing the Bull- dogs. xx!!-4. ll' 335 as-.fa 1 ' 1 3 3,1 :A,N L w 1 'YIWY in 1 AE," Q W' 8 .L COACH DAVIS JOHN FELTON BUSTER BROWN ALBERT CALLOWAY Forward Guard Guard WMM?
