But, every day could have been the last. Previously, Winona Technical Institute, a trade school, had been maintained on the grounds. A lawsuit ensued, brought about by the Institute backers to regain their lost investments. Placed before the Indiana Supreme Court in 1912, the case pended action until 1916. At last on May 22, 1916, the land was deeded to the School City of Indianapolis for use forever as a technical school. Tech's future was assured! Milo I-I.
