Up in the attic of Treadwell Hall is the R.0.T.C. indoor rifle range. SEE THE 1,oNG BUILDING to your right! lVell, that's Treadwell Hall, built in 1921. It was Called the Blain Building until 19-L3 when Bliss Esther Fay Shover, one of the original eight Tech teachers. proposed that it be rededi- cated in memory of Lieutenant-Colonel Treadwell. the iirst commandant. Trophy cases in the entrance halls at either end of the building are iilled to overflowing with cups and plaques our sports teams have won in athletic events. Beyond Treadwell is theBa1-11. completed in 1869. Soldiers called it the Ucorrallfi Yes, it really was used as a stable. Horse stalls were in the base- ment. The commandant's carriage was kept on the first floor. In 1916 the Barn Was remodeled for classrooms. lllusic and agriculture classes are held there now.
